French Country Lunch

This week I wanted to do another luncheon for the girls I work with at the thrift store. The colors blue and yellow kept popping into my head for some reason. I hunted around for something real simple and this is what I came up with.

At The Beach

I am joining Cuisine Kathleen for her At The Beach themed tablescape party this week. Aqua and brown seemed to be the best I could come up with!

I chose a blue runner for the center of the table and worked from there. The woven chargers were found at Savers for $2.99 each. I am not sure I really like them, they are too deep to suit me.

The aqua dinner plate is Thompson Pottery, the pattern is Seashell; it is washed with brown over the embossed portions. I don't have much in the way of brown, but did pull out a brown and white salad plate made by Sterling. I think this may be restaurant ware as it is quite heavy.

A scallop shell will be used for the stuffed clam appetizer.

The aqua glassware is Noritake Sweet Swirl, which remind me of ocean waves.

The brown napkins are hemstitched linen gathered with a woven napkin ring. I tucked the  champagne Madeline flatware in for something different.

The rim shot.

The centerpiece is a myriad of shore birds, starfish and a lighthouse.

Raspberry, White and Black Tablescape

This week I am doing a raspberry, white and black table. I found the red Tracy Porter dinner plates at Savers for $2.99, about 75¢ each. They are solid so will be used in lots of tablescapes.

The raspberry and black table runner is one of my favorites, it is so much prettier than the photograph. I paired it with plain black napkins.

The charger plates are from TJMaxx or HomeGoods a few years ago. The white salad plates are Wedgwood Hedge Rose; I am using them as dinner plates here. The raspberry bowls are from a CTS giveaway that I was lucky enough to win back in 2010.

The iced tea/lemonade glasses I have had for a couple of years and the wine glass are ruby Indiana Diamond Point.

The flatware is Oneida Afterglow.

The centerpiece is a little silver compote with a robin's nest and a couple of black wooden candlesticks I have had for several years.

Thanks for visiting today...I do hope you will come back again.

I am joining a few parties this week, so hope you will come along with me.

April Cornell Place Mats

Most everyone knows by now, green is my favorite color...this week the inspiration came from these beautiful April Cornell place mats that I found on a recent trip to Savers. When I saw they were only $1.99 for the set, I couldn't get them in the basket fast enough! The picture really doesn't do them justice, they really are beautiful. This is the first time I have seen any April Cornell at the thrift store...now to find napkins and a tablecloth by her would be great.

The green rimmed dinner plate is by Mulberry. I have had them for ages.

The apple green salad/dessert plate is Waechtersbach. I got these at Amazon.com 3-4 years ago.

In the summer I use many of my soup bowls for salads. This one is by Johnson Brothers, the pattern is Snowhite Regency.

The clear glassware is Noritake Provincial and the green is Lenox Antique (I have them in brown, also).

The napkins and flatware are from World Market. The champagne flatware pattern is Madeline. I have the green and almost used it, but thought the champagne would bring out more of the tans/golds  in the placemats.

The rim shot.

The centerpiece is a tuberous begonia I bought for the back porch.

Thank you for visiting today. I do hope you will return the next time.
