Late October Table...

I started this week's table with a tablecloth I have had for ages, a sort of typical fall scene...barnyard, rooster, sunflowers, pumpkins, and brightly colored leaves.

Instead of the reds and oranges I went with white and green for the place settings. I started with an white dinner plate, that is used as a charger. They are Chantilly, pattern unknown. These were $4.99 for 4 at Savers.

The salad plate is a plain green by Tabletops Gallery, Napoli. These were found at Goodwill for 49¢ each.

The soup bowl which will be used for a chopped salad is made by Gibson. These were also bought at Goodwill for 49¢ each.

The flatware is Oneida Louisiana stainless.

The glassware is a simple olive green stem. I think these were found at Savers last year.

The napkins are from Savers, $1.99 for 4. They are olive green with a brownish edging. The brown napkin rings are Better Homes & Gardens found at WalMart on final sale at 50¢ per package of 4. I also got gold and green ceramic ones for the same price!

The centerpiece is green candles/white candle holders and a compote with gourds and mini pumpkins.

The rim shot...

I have a new camera and tried some different settings this week. Once I get used to it, I think I will really like it.

Thanks for taking the time to visit each week.

I will be joining a few parties this week and hope you will follow along.

Pumpkin Patch

I have used the same tablecloth as last week, this time with orange dishes. Quite a different look, I would say.

The orange charger/dinner plate is the first layer of the place setting.

I used the same aqua salad plate I used with the purple last week, to bring out the bits of aqua/teal in the tablecloth.

Next is the pumpkin salad/dessert plate, followed by a small pumpkin soup bowl.

The glassware is a tangerine Noritake Perspective water stem. I also have the tall champagne/sherbets, too.

I opted to use a plain pumpkin orange napkin with a simple fold.

I tried two centerpieces and finally settled on the taller, sparser one. No candles as this table will be used for a luncheon with friends.

Rim shot!

Do you have a favorite between this week and last week's table...purple or orange? I like both, but think the purple edges out the orange by a hair!

Autumn Royalty

A few years back one would only think of rich oranges, reds, yellows and browns as fall colors, now
purples/plums/aubergines top the list.

I started with a tablecloth that definitely depicts fall; pumpkins, colorful leaves, people with long sleeves, rakes...this is my favorite one for fall which reminds me what it would have been like a hundred years ago. Plus it has great colors...

I started layering with woven placemat to which I have added a plum dinner plate that is being used as a charger. On top of the purple is an aqua plate topped with a plum plate.

The glassware is my favorite of the purples I own. I think this came in an amber also, that I foolishly didn't purchase.

The knife and fork is a very plain pattern I can't seem to find any of the books I have. It is 1847 Rogers. The spoon is Oneida/Community Forever, circa 1939.

Rim shot.

The candle holders are amythest with gold. I used cream colored candles.

I have again used the compote from my friend, Sue Z, this time filled with mini pumpkins and gourds.

Black, White And A Dash Of Yellow!

A few weeks ago I found some black stemware so that was part of the inspiration for this week's table.

I thought about using a white tablecloth, but decided it would look too formal, so just went with a plain black acrylic charger and layered from there.

The other part of the inspiration came in the form of the black and white dinner plates. Actually I was going to use my Royal Stafford Hayride, but my sister, Judy, surprised me with 4 Spode Archive Collection dinner plates that came in the mail last Friday.

The soup plate is Johnson Brothers topped with a black cotton napkin gathered in a yellow napkin ring.

The flatware is Oneida Louisiana.

The glassware is a black water glass and a black-stemmed wine glass.

The centerpiece is a bright yellow tureen flanked by black wooden candle holders. The black salt/pepper shakers are actually sterling, which I found at the local thrift store last week, marked at 25¢ each! I haven't cleaned them up, yet. One of the volunteers thought they were plastic they were so shiny!

Thank you for visiting today, it is really appreciated. Do come back again.
