New Year's Eve Table

It is hard to believe we are about to enter into a new year...still haven't figured out where this one has gone.

As a Christmas gift from my husband I recently added several pieces to my favorite china, Noritake Luray.  This pattern first came on the market in 1935. They are the ones in my header that I have had so many comments on. This is what we dine on every New Years Eve that we don't go out. I was able to add another four 7-piece place settings. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find more square salad plates, but found the round ones. Not shown today are the berry bowls and bread/butter plates or any serving pieces.

I tried a white tablecloth, but didn't like how the china looked against it, so went with black...still don't like it in the photos. Maybe I am just tired...therefore very little dialogue and pictures today.

Pieces shown are the dinner, luncheon, salad plates, cream soup with underplate, cup and saucer.
I have used the International Silver Frontenac flatware. The crystal is Towle Leyland and Cristal d'Arques Longchamps both found in thrift stores for less than a dollar a piece.
The linen napkins are some I inherited from my late mother-in-law. Gold beaded napkin rings are from Savers and the faux peacock clip on Christmas ornaments are from WalMart.

The centerpiece is beaded gold candles nestled in aqua and gold fabric.

I want to thank all my viewers and followers for being faithful each week...you are really what inspires me! I want to also thank all the ladies that do the link ups each week...I really do enjoy linking up with you.

Wishing you all a new year filled with good health, much wealth and love. Happy New Year!

Green and Red Christmas Table

Today was the last of my Christmas luncheons with girlfriends. I had to do a couple as I couldn't get everyone together on the same day. I started out doing red and white and changed it to red and green an hour before their arrival. The red and white was too close to what I had done the last two weeks.

Here is one of the red and white I started with...The red charger is a large Waechtersbach dinner plate. The white plate is unmarked as is the red soup bowl.

The green plates are old, also unmarked...we use them frequently. The flatware is Oneida Louisiana.

The Cris d'Arques/Luminarc wine glass has an emerald green stem. This shape and size are my favorite...they don't hold much white wine for this almost non-drinker! I bought them at Savers, they were 99¢ each, but on Mondays they give a 25% discount on certain items...they qualified for the discount so I got them for 75¢ each.

The rim shot.

I used green/red tartan napkins with little berry napkin rings.

The centerpiece is a wooden compote filled with candles and the picks from the previous few holiday posts. I also added a couple red and silver mercury glass candle holders with white chunky candles.

Yes, I did use the same crocheted table runner as last week...it is beautiful, so why not.

I want to thank all that follow me and visit each week...I really appreciate it. Please do come back the next time.

Wishing you all a season filled with love and joy.

I will be joining the following memes this week and hope that you will follow me. Thanks for hosting each week, ladies.

Candy Cane Table

The inspiration for the table this week came in the form of candy canes. I hung them around a former betta fishbowl from a few years ago. I was going to fill it with Christmas ornaments, but being lazy I just plopped a small ivy in it.

I found this hand crocheted runner at Saver's for $1.99 a few months ago and couldn't resist it.

This table will be used for a soup and sandwich luncheon with a few girlfriends later this week. It is so hard to round everyone up on the same day this time of year!

The layers of dishes start with Wedgwood Hedge Rose, then the plaid Traditional Holidays by Home, and finally the American Atelier's Athena soup bowl.

The flatware is Oneida Afterglow sterling, which belonged to my husband's mother.

I used a plain black napkin with a white bow napkin ring and tucked in some faux greenery.

The glassware is clear with a red mottled stem. I have no idea who made them, but would love to find more.

The candle and candle holder are the same ones I used last week. This photo shows the lace runner pretty well.

Thanks for visiting today, hope you will come back next time.

Poinsettias and Apples

Another busy tablecloth to tame! I promise there are no more poinsettia tablecloths in the house.

The centerpiece are a pair of apple topiaries...notice the apples in the tablecloth, please. The candles are in clear red glass dishes sitting on a white pillar base to get them up off the table a little bit.

White, gold and plum seemed to be good colors to use this week. The iridescent plum napkins are held with a gold beaded circular napkin ring. The flatware is my favorite International Frontenac, circa 1903. It is quite ornate with lilies and entwined stems.

I started layering with a gold charger, adding an extra large dinner plate, which is being used just for show. The dinner and salad plate are from a set of Hutschenreuther. The cream soup and under plate are the top layer.

I was kind of stumped on what color glassware to use. I had thought of amber, but at the last minute decided on plum to tie in with the napkins and a clear wine stem.

 The stacked plates.
