Let There Be White Challenge

This week Cuisine Kathleen  challenged us to do a Let There Be White tablescape. White isn't a color as far as I am concerned...everyone knows I ♥♥♥ lots of real color...so this was hard for me.

I started with a white on white embroidered organdy tablecloth and white Battenburg type napkins.

The sterling flatware is International Frontenac, circa 1903.

The charger plates are Royal Staffordshire. I haven't had time to look up the pattern. The dinner plate is Tabletops Unlimited Chantilly and the salad plate just has a B inside a shield. The chargers and dinner plates were found at Savers and the salad plates at TJMaxx about 5 years ago. I have them in aqua and green also.

The green stemware is also from Savers...$2.99 for 4. Not sure who the maker is, but seems like I have seen similar ones at Pier One Imports.

Today, July 30,  is our 25th wedding anniversary...Howard got me this beautifully colorful bouquet, so it will serve as the centerpiece.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today...do come back the next time.

I will be joining Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish and hope that you will go over to check out all of the other inspiring tablescapes.

Red And Green...No It Isn't Christmas, Yet!

I am sorry I only got to a few entries last week...my computer contracted a virus...I think I have it taken care of, finally.

Last week I had luncheon for a small group. The tablecloth was my inspiration.

For something different I decided to do red charger plates with green and white accents.

I used the Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage salad plates and a broccoli mug for the corn chowder.

The chowder was served from the cutest broccoli soup tureen. The plates, mugs and tureen were a gift from my friend, Jo Jo. I use them every chance I get!

The glassware is Ivima 1895 and the flatware is Oneida Louisiana.

Thanks for taking the time to visit. Please come back the next time.

Simple, Simple, Simple

Another really simple tablescape this week...

Just getting home from a few days vacation I didn't feel like doing a fancy table.

I saw these yellow glass salad/dessert plates at Home Goods and scooped them up thinking they could be used with the sunflower tablecloth I used a few weeks ago. Today I am using them with some April Cornell placemats. The flatware is Oneida Afterglow which was introduced in 1956.

The white dinner plates are Wedgwood Hedge Rose. I topped them with the yellow salad plates.

The green glasssware matches the green in the placemats. I do not know who the maker is.

I chose the napkins for the yellow fleur de lis on one corner. It is about the same bright yellow as the salad plate. The napkin ring is just a simple yellow wooden ring.

Everything on the table came from thrift stores with the exception of the sterling and the yellow glass salad/dessert plates.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today. Please come back next time.
