In The Pink...And White!

The last few tables have been really bright and lively...this week I have toned it down to just pink and white. The weather here has been overcast, then the sun will come out for a few minutes, then flee behind another bank of clouds...makes it hard to get good photos as the dining room only has north facing windows. I don't know enough how to adjust my camera for better pictures, which doesn't help!

I started with a solid pale pink cotton tablecloth...notice I even ironed it! I have very few pink napkins to choose from so I found some with a couple shades of pink to add a little interest.

The sterling flatware is Oneida Afterglow, circa 1956.

The glassware is pale pink, unknown maker.

The stack of plates began with a  pink Bordallo Pinheiro chop/charger plate, that my sister, Judy found for the unbelievable price of $1 each at her local thrift store in Vermont. The next plate is a white Royal Stafforshire dinner plate, then another pink BP and finally a cute little white dessert plate with a raised pink tulip that Judy also found at her local thrift store. The backstamp says PAI made in China.

The candlesticks were originally brown and I painted them pink then distressed them...I didn't wash or stain them, as I like the way they came out.

The roses are from my yard...the pink ones I planned to use got pounded with rain the other day! Most of them are almost done blossoming until it is a little cooler weather, meaning fall! I just had to add one of the yellow ones with the pink undersides along with the pink ones. I have no idea the names of them, the two pink are climbers and the yellow is a bush type. I think the climbers are considered old fashioned? They came with the house, nothing I planted. All I know is the darker one has taken over a good portion of the back porch area...it keeps sprawling!

Rim shot!

The last photo was taken with the soft focus setting...it came out so light compared to the regular setting I use, but seems a little fuzzy.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will return the next time.

Still On A Kick...

Still on a blue/green kick, sorry if you are bored with it. I am sure you have seen all of these dishes at one time or another. This week's tablescape inspiration came from the tablecloth. It is yellow, teal and periwinkle.

I have used a black woven charger. The next layer is a green Bordallo Pinheiro Geranium Leaf plate topped with a blue Vera Bradley dinner plate. To the VB plate I have added a white Alfred Meakin plate, unknown pattern. The final layer is Copeland Valencia cream soup, which is used for the salad.

The glassware is a teal water stem and the tiny aqua is for a wee bit of wine!

The flatware is Oneida Louisiana. The aqua hemstitched napkin is linen.

I tried 2 different floral center pieces...yellow/pink roses and dark rose climbers...both from my yard. I have a pure yellow, but it is just budding, unfortunately. The peonies have gone by, so I couldn't use them. Just about the time they get to looking beautiful the rain and wind does them in!

Thanks for taking the time to visit today...do hope you will visit again the next time.

A Cheerful Table

Another cheerful blue and green table...my favorite color combo! The Vera tablecloth is what dictated the colors this week. I used white napkins and cobalt glass napkin rings.

I started the placesetting with a Vera Bradley blue charger, then a white Royal Staffordshire dinner plate, a green Bordallo Pinheiro plate and finally a cobalt square soup/salad bowl by Von Pok & Chang.

The flatware is the ever-present Oneida Louisiana.

The glassware is Artland Iris in cobalt and the green wine hock is possibly Imperlux.

There is a little bit of yellow in the tablecloth so I got bright yellow tulips for the centerpiece...I will be sad when the tulips won't be around until next year! The vase was someone's ceramic project, it is cobalt with lemons on it. I also added a blue candle holder with a squatty candle.

The rim shot.

I used the Pop Art setting on the camera for the top photo...a little bit bright, I'd say!

Thanks for taking the time to visit today. Please come back the next time. Have a great week!

I will join Diann at The Thrifty Groove for her final Thrifty Things Friday...this meme will be missed by many. Thank you Diann and Linda for hosting each week!

Get Out Your Sunglasses!

Get out your sunglasses! I have been anxious to use this eye-popping tablecloth since I found it a few months ago at Savers. When I spotted it, I was thrilled it was large enough to cover my table...so many times I find one I really like, but it is too small. I ♥♥♥ bright colors, this more than fits the bill! The vivid pink vase is a new acquisition from my last visit to Savers so it was also part of the inspiration, too.

This is the second year in a row that the rain has made it impossible to enjoy the lilacs inside...I had to find a few at the very top to cut to bring into the house...oh, they smell so wonderful, but won't last more than today as they are already shedding profusely!

I used white chargers and dinner plates as the anchors, then topped them with a bright yellow glass salad plate. I wanted to keep it fairly simple due to the melange of colors and shapes in the tablecloth.

Little pink flower shaped plates are being used for the rolls.

To keep with the fun I used my yellow handled Oxford Hall Fashion Ware flatware.

The glassware is reproduction Indiana Madrid. Unfortunately, I don't have any bright pink for a fun table! That will be remedied as soon as I find something fun, no stodgy glassware for me!

I used a plain pink napkin held with yellow bead napkin rings.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today...please come back the next time. Have a wonderful week!
