Checks and Tartan

Sorry for the quality of the pictures, but we haven't had sun in a couple days. Looks like overcast days until next week, too.

It seems like I have been stuck on reds for Christmas this year...I should have done the tree in all reds.

Thanks for stopping by...hope you will next time.

Merry Christmas to my family and friends!

Nutcracker Tablescape

I have several small nutcrackers, no large one, unfortunately. This table is decorated around them. I did buy the "plastic" salad plates at World Market a few weeks ago. There were on red or blue nutcrackers, so I bought two of each.

A picture of the tree...and see the plant with the green leaves...that is the poinsettia I got last year! I have never been able to keep one longer than a couple days...amazingly this one is still alive!

Howard covered my chairs with the yellow/white elephant fabric. I love them. If I tire of them I still have the zebra fabric...not sure if he would tackle that job again, though!

Thanks for visiting today...hope you will return next time! Have a great weekend!

Snowman Table

I had to try doing a snowman table...as you can see I need a much larger table so that a centerpiece could fit!

Plain white dinner and salad plates from WalMart were used along with napkins for hats and scarves and flatware for arms, legs and hat band.

The facial features and buttons were chocolate candies, red hots and a cheese puff nose!

I tried the scarf with a napkin ring, but it made it hard to see the face, so I tucked the napkin under the plates. Personally I like it best with the napkin ring. With or without?

Thanks for visiting today...hope you will come back next time.

Snow Owl Tablescape

These are the owl dishes I bought last year and didn't get a chance to use! They are part of the Better Homes  Gardens Heritage Collection Series.

I used a great horned owl in the centerpiece as I don't own a snow owl! I had thought of spray painting this one, then decided that wasn't a good idea! There are live and faux trees mixed together to create the centerpiece along with red votive candle holders.

Santa's Reindeer

Each year I look for Better Homes and Garden's Heritage Collection Christmas plates. This year they are Santa with a couple of his reindeer pulling the sleigh, thus Santa's reindeer! I still have BHG dishes from last year that I haven't made a tablescape with. My plan is to do several more tables this year, if time permits...so stay tuned

I wanted to do something more for the male species so I have used more of a woodland theme. I started with a gold tablecloth and cream/tan checked napkins held with deer antler napkin rings. The amber glassware and flatware round out the setting.

Notice the mama fox and kit down in the right side of the plate! I love these plates.

The centerpiece started with a woven tray, two gold deer, pine cones, a brown candle and bottle brush trees.

Thanks for visiting, hope you will return next time.
