A Table For My Friend, Linda!

One of the first bloggers I made friends with when I started blogging over 6 years ago was, Linda of A La Carte. She has a thing for flamingos. I found the painted wood napkin rings a few years ago and patiently waited for something to come along that would go with them. Back in the fall I happened upon the painted salad plates...I couldn't put them in my shopping cart fast enough. A lady shopping the same aisle walked over to see what I had snatched up so fast. I told her I did tablescapes for my blog and wanted to surprise my friend, Linda with a table in her honor. Sorry I couldn't wait until June for your birthday, Linda, so here it is. Enjoy!

The tablecloth is poly/cotton and the cute pink, white and green napkins are cotton. I debated on using solid green or pink, but thought these added a little smile to the table.

The dish stack begins with Bordallo Pinheiro green chargers, then a pink dinner plate and finally the painted salad plate.

The glassware is Artland Iris green and a pink stemmed tulip shaped stem. I think they may be Libbey.

I have, once again, used Oneida Louisiana flatware.

Flamingos are not something I find often so I had nothing to use as a centerpiece so I looked around and came up with pink candlesticks and a couple of pots with succulents...that is the best I could do!

Thanks for visiting today, hope you will return next time.

Linda, I hope you enjoyed the table!

January Blues

We have only seen the sun a couple times in the last few weeks...I don't function well without it.
I wanted to do a bright table, but not too bright. I can always depend on the cobalt Artland Iris to provide brightness on the table!

I started with a cotton striped tablecloth in oatmeal/blue. I used blue gingham napkins in a lotus flower fold so I could put the soup bowl in it.

I started the setting with a woven charger, oatmeal dinner plate, unknown who the maker is, a blue BP cabbage salad plate and soup bowl.

The glassware is Artland Iris and the stainless flatware is International, I don't know the pattern.

The centerpiece is a collection of Iittal Festivo candlesticks. They were made by Finnish artist Timo Sarpaneva. The candlesticks are circa 1967. They have 1-8 rings. I have all except the 7-ringed one. The candles are round, apparently made specifically for these candlesticks. They are perfect for a winter tablescape as they kind of look like ice. I am sure you will find them in future tablescapes! I first saw these candlesticks on Tanya's blog Dans le Lakehouse and fell in love with them...and her kitchen!

Thanks for visiting today, hope you will find the time to come back next time.
