Oversized...breasts?

When I took this out of the freezer I thought it was two breasts...turned out to be only one. Why are chicken breasts the size of a turkey breast, lately? Last night we had sautèed chicken with a little chicken broth/Marsala and I was astounded at the size of the breast, it was enough for 2 or 3 people and then some. I butterflied it and put it in the skillet......holy moley it covered the entire surface......I can't imagine that chicken could get off the ground, if it tried!

We, (or should I say Howard) topped the meal off with a little piece of apple/maple tart. I had a hard time cleaning my plate....well, actually I didn't clean it.

As you can see, it didn't shrink up very much........scary, isn't it?

Maybe it was a good old fashioned farm raised chicken instead of a confinement one to grow so large. Your meal looks fabulous but the deesert....how could you resist?

They must be doing to chickens whatever has been done to turkeys in recent years to cause them to become so ... well, busty.

At any rate, your meal looks delicious! I also enjoyed your tablescape post this week ... great shapes and colors!!!

Yikes! You're right....that is one big breast! If I made a dinner like that it would take me three days in the kitchen.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I know..they have been huge..I slice them thin while they are partially frozen, 2 will make plenty!
It looks good, and I like your spongewear too!

Thank you everyone for the nice comments.

Kathleen and Carol, the dishes have tiny leaves and Japanese writing on the bottoms, got them at HomeGoods last year.

I love chicken. I wouldn't be complaining about the breast size. But then again, I'm not the chicken having to walk around with such huge breasts. Dinner looked very yummy. I think I'm going to be having chicken for dinner now. And thanks for visiting my blog & commenting.
