Another Thrifty Thursday with our host, Leigh, of Tales From Bloggeritaville. Please stop by, you won't want to miss seeing what her other guests are up to.
In the past few of weeks I have found quite a few treasures at the thrift shops I haunt!
This is from the weekend before Thanksgiving. All from the ARC Thrift Store in town. I spotted the blue/white Currier and Ives type plates made by The Royal China Co. of Sebring, Ohio and couldn't snatch them up fast enough for fear someone else would see them...mind you, I was the only one in the store at the time! I then noticed they were only 10¢ apiece, which made me even happier. I knew nothing of them or the maker, so I checked on line and found they are called a hostess set and found a set that was selling for $55!) After I put them on the counter in a neat little pile I wandered down to where the silverware is and found several pieces I wanted to add to my growing collection. The pieces are 25¢ each. On the way back to the counter I spotted the green candle holders and the little Christmasy handled cups/saucers. Not really sure if they are for condiments or little cups for hot chocolate/soup. I will put them out with candies in them. There was also a little white/green trimmed custard cup. All of this for about $7!
Monday was senior discount day at Goodwill. I found some stemmed water and wine glasses and an ugly gold candle sconce that will be painted a cream color. The water glasses were 74¢ each and the wines were 37¢ each. The last stop was here in town at the ARC Thrift Store where I hit it big! I found a red transferware serving bowl, $5, which is more than I like to pay...but...a little silver bud vase 50¢, 8 crystal cordial stems $10, a few pieces of silver flatware 25¢ each, a clear glass candlestick 50¢ and when I got to the counter there was a box sitting there with dishes I had been searching for a couple of years. I was mooning over them and Joanne said they were $15...I told her they were MINE! The set is a 4-piece place setting, service for 4. There were several people in the store and I thought someone else had put them on the counter to be held until they were done shopping. I was so happy as I had found a couple soup plates and a dinner plate at a yard sale a couple years ago but hadn't seen any since then. I just love the blue/white roosters! That was the best Monday thrifting I have had to date.
I used the Blue Rooster dishes in my Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps On the Porch so you may want to go over there and check all the other guests tables out.
Thanks for taking time to stop by and share with me.

So happy to meet you! Thanks for coming over and visiting my blog. Always nice to meet a fellow-Kansan. Where about are you? We've been out to Salina and Lindsborg...is that near you?
The goodies you are looking at is homemade Peppermint Bark, with crushed candy cane. Oh my, is it trouble!

I am an acorn-aholic and try picking up pieces whenever I can. My mother in law bought me 10 plates for my birthday one year when we came across them at a shop...boy was that a treat!
Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm just wondering how old you have to be for senior day at Goodwill! I don't think we have that here at our Goodwill--Darn. Anyway, I want to live where you live because your Goodwill is better. You found some great things. --Delores
