Is It Chocolate Or Just Plain Old Brown?...

I will be joining our hostess, Susan, at Between Naps On The Porch for another Tablescape Thursday. Please visit her so that you can see other tablescapes.

I found some hot chocolate colored napkins and placemats while out thrifting Monday so they were the inspiration for tonight's tablescape.

I am never very far from roosters or chickens in my house, especially when it comes to dishes. I have had these for a few years.I bought the round dinner plates and square salad plates. One year when Howard was back in Phoenix, he surprised me by buying the square large plate and soup bowls. He said he didn't know I already had the same pattern sitting in the cupboard...hey, he tried, at least they were different pieces than I already had! I have used the large square plate as a charger tonight.

Charger/dinner plate.

Amber centerpiece rooster is a two piece candy dish I have had for years. The eggs are not real...I took them from the laundry room lamp; it is a basket filled with eggs, made into a lamp.

I forgot I had these amber candlesticks! I added red candles to pick up the red in the placemats and plates! Wish I had thought to use them before I took all the pictures...

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and take a peek. Don't forget to stop by Susan's porch to see other tablescapes!

I couldn't find a way to email you back. I "wish" I had crocheted my tablecloth. It was made by my grandmother and it's actually a bedspread!

I LOVE your rooster dishes! I used to live in Fort Riley, Kansas in the 60's when my dad was stationed there. I have many fond childhood memories of a prairie dog colony in the backyard (field), lightning bugs, chipmunks, and turtles.

BTW, I don't know what rock I was under to have missed last weeks table, but beautiful just doesn't describe it! The colors were perfect! I won't miss out again;)

I'm with you, I love roosters! I also have rooster plates that I have not used in a TT so you have inspired me with your pretty table. I love the addition of the eggs. And to answer your question it is ALWAYS chocolate or butterscoth, or wood, or warm earth... never just brown!
