Is Purple Just For Royalty?
Another week has passed and it is time to join Susan at Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Thank you for hosting my favorite weekly meme, Susan.
To enlarge any picture, just click on it.
Is purple just for royalty...I hardly think so, as it is on my table this week! I have been trying, for awhile now, to find enough dishes to do a purple table. I have had a hard time finding anything in purple that I thought I could live with, but think there is enough here to do a decent tablescape.
The table before the flowers were cut.
Placesetting.
Plum dinner plate used as a charger plate.
Dinner plate.
Close-up of pattern.
Two shades of purple/lavender stemware.
Layered pieces.
Flowers from my yard...the day lilies are about done, these are the end of the season scrawny ones...a week or so ago, they were huge. I have also used the gooseneck loosestrife, again, purple coneflowers, lavender buddleia, white coneflowers, beebalm, and something dark magenta, can't remember the name of it, but when cut it has a strong onion smell, so it is probably in the allium family, but really small.

Spectacular flowers! How lovely to know they're from your yard! The dishes are layered beautifully, and I love the two shades of purple stemware. Very appealing!
Beautiful pattern on those dinner plates and you have picked up so many lovely colors out of it. Wonderful table and gorgeous flowers!
That's a lovely table. I like the purple. In fact our guest bedroom is done in khaki and purple! Linda
love it! your tablescapes are the BEST! Randa
If purple is for royalty, I'm in BIG trouble!! I have purple goblets from Christmas tree shops that go with my fruited plates from the dollar store!!!
Nice tablescape! :)
Tuesday is the highlight of my week when I see your wonderful tabelescapes. I am a big fan of purple and lavender and my room growing up was painted in lavender. Love from Vermont. Brenda
There is just something about a purple table! I love all the layers of dishes! So beautiful. The flowers from your yard make the most stunning arrangement! You must have fabulous gardens.
Yvonne
Another beautiful table setting. I know purple/lavender is one of your favorite colors and I know that lately you've been looking for just the right finishing touches to set a table with those colors. It came out beautifully....the flowers really top it off.
Delma
You have the prettiest tablescapes week after week. I am loving your purple dishes and stemware and the flatware is beautiful. Love the floral arrangement, too!

Oh, my favorite color!! I love this....of course! LOL. I have almost NO purple dishes or glassware. I keep looking and I WILL find some!!
I found a new white ironstone turneen but, when the woman wrapped it up she dropped the lid and ladel!! I let out such a loud "Oh No!!" that everyone at the yard sale turned around and looked at us! She gave me back my money but told me to keep the bowl. I will show it next week but, I am so sad. I think I will use it for just a bowl. But, I am still looking for ya! Like purple dishes, this has become a mission of mine! LOL
Your suggestion about Marble on top of sewing machine stand is exactly what my husband said. I never would have thought marble but am now. Of course your dishes are fabulous but the best part, your flowers fresh from your yard. Lovely.
Thanks for visiting our little blog!
The bird pictures is actually an oil painting! Not to brag because I did not paint it.. But isn't it beautiful! I am now the proud momma of this great painting!
Your place setting is just beautiful! I wish I had fancy company to have a fancy dinner with a fancy place setting as yours! Anyone besides my husband's buds!
These are beautiful pieces! I just love the rich color!! Thank you for the comment on my blog! I believe the bowl is made out of resin. It's pretty heavy! I can't wait to check out your blog! I'm going to be your newest follower and I'd love for you to do the same! Visit again soon! :D

Your flowers are truly the show piece, though. Outstanding!!
You must have a green thumb. :-)

This is soooo pretty and different...love the glasses and ADORE your silver flatware!!!
You did such a lovely job with the flowers. They certainly don't look like they are at the end of the season. I love the shades of purple. TT is tempting me to all sorts of things that I haven't had before - including purple!
Mimi, your table looks so nice. The purple is a pretty color and I love the china pattern on the deep purple charger. That looks really royal. Everything is nice and your lovely flowers decorate so nicely the whole table.

I love the color. I've been resisting collecting plum, violet, purple or whatever it is called. This table is truly an inspiration. So elegant and inviting.
Very regal! You've coordinated everything perfectly, and your flower arrangement is lovely. Your Salem dishes look very similar to some I have, Epiag Pastelle.
Hope you and yours have a happy 4th!

Bill
