Cranberry and Pink

It is time to visit Susan at Between Naps On The Porch for another Tablescape Thursday. Thank you for hosting my favorite meme. Please visit BNOTP so you can see more fabulous tables.

Click on the photos to enlarge.

This week I am doing shades of pink and cranberry. Yes, I did say pink!

I found this cross-stitch embroidered tablecloth up at the thrift store several months ago, but didn't have anything to go with it. As you all know, pink is my least favorite color...but I am getting to appreciate it much more lately. Someone spent many, many hours doing this beautiful piece so I thought I would share it with you.

The charger plate is a plain white dinner plate with a raised border. The "dinner" plate in this setting is actually a luncheon plate in white with a pink and cranberry floral/leaf border. It was made by Buffalo China, as restaurantware. The pattern is Rebecca. From what I have read, it was first produced in the early 1980's, but has now discontinued.

Close-up of the border.

The salad plate is a Nancy Calhoun in raspberry. There is no actual pattern name, just called solid color! They were made from 1993 through 2002.

The soup bowl is one I have used several times; Classic made by Oneida.

Layers of white, pink and cranberry.

The water glass is Anchor Hocking Wexford. The wine stem is flashed, haven't taken the time to look up the maker or pattern. I used these particular pieces as they are quite heavy and would look better than something more fragile.

I found the soup tureen with lid, underplate and ladle today at Goodwill...are you ready for this...$2.99 and with the 25% senior discount it was only $2.24! It just has Japan on the bottom of the tureen.

Candle lit table.

A huge thank you to those that are nice enough to leave a comment while taking time to visit my blog; I will do the same for you. Hope to see you again next week.

Happy **th birthday! (and I happen to know which one it is). Good job, as usual.
P.S. That tureen is LOTS less expensive than the one you looked at at the Good Will store.

So glad you're back to tablescaping! We missed you! What a wonderful tablecloth -- someone spent HOURS on that cross-stitching. Your pretty pink and cranberry table shows it off beautifully. I always appreciate learning something about the history of the pieces you include. Thanks!

Mimi -- I do believe that is the exact tureen I have on my table today. I received it as a wedding present almost 2 years ago and if I found one at a GW, I would get another. I was one of those persons who used to cross stitch table cloths endlessly. I love the cranberry and pink. I also have some goblets very similar to the red -- they are heavy and have flashing too. Love them. Very pretty table. Joni

Any time is pink time in my little world. It was easy for me to pick a favorite part of your table because I love that tablecloth so much. My grandmother used to make tablecloths like that, and I love and treasure them. I would love to own one in shades of pink.

You had a great find with that tureen too.

Your table was a a pink treat in the middle of all the fall browns.
