My First Junkin Finds Friday Party
I am late joining Linda at A la Carte for Junkin Finds Friday. Thanks for inviting me to join your party, Linda. I will also join Gypsy Fish Journal for Silver Sunday. Thank you for hosting, Beth.
Tuesday was Senior Discount Day at Goodwill so I went to see if there was anything that wanted to jump in my cart to go home with me. I found 15 pieces of silverplate for $1.99; with the 25% discount the total came to $1.49. That is less than a dime per piece! I am happy no one noticed them before I got there in the early afternoon.
The pierced serving spoon is Old Company/International Silver's Signature pattern from 1950, the dinner forks are Reliance Plate/Oneida's Exeter from 1913 and the teaspoons are Oneida/Community Silver's Patrician 1914.

That was a fabulous score! I love it when they price great stuff low for a change. I also love Sr Discount Day!! I used my pierced serving spoons all the time, mix and match patterns. I know this will show up on a tablescape!
Thanks for joining Junkin Finds Friday!! It means a lot to me!
Great find, Mimi! Very pretty pieces!
I just love old silver ware-the patina is wonderful-and at that price!
Oh my goodness, Mimi! What a fabulous score! I have found a few pieces of two of those patterns. Lovely! You have some great thrift stores over there in the middle of nowhere! Happy weekend!...hugs...Debbie
Hi Mimi, Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love your finds at Goodwill, I mix my silver and silver plate and use it every day. Yours is great and I always ask for that discount!
Enjoy your weekend!
Good junkin'! Can't beat those prices!
I've been looking at your past posts and you sure can set a pretty table. I love your silver finds. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Score! Don't you just love those discounts?? Lucky finds. I guess I need to go earlier and shop. ~Ames
Well, weren't you smiling on the way back to the car? What a deal!
Beautiful pieces, Mimi! I love to mix and match my silver...just keep picking up more when you see bargains like these and soon you will have enough for a crowd!
XO,
Jane
What treasures Mimi!! Score for you :)
Blessings!
Gail
Wow, what a deal!
I only recently started putting my flatware/silverware in a spooner. You can read all about spooners in this past post-

I've really enjoyed reading through several of your past posts... gorgeous tablescapes!!
So nice meeting you Mimi!
What a fantastic score Mimi! I read some of your previous posts. I am sorry to hear about your nephew. You set a lovely table in his honor. I also like your other tablescapes.

What great finds! I always look for silver plate utensils there but have no luck. What a deal!!
Wow, what a score! How do you know what the patterns are though? I have my MIL's silverware and can't figure out what pattern it is. It's ugly, but other than that I don't have a clue how to figure it out.
Wow, what a wonderful find and the price was as fabulous as your silver ware!!! Hey, I checked out your blog and looove your gorgeous tablescapes, but also I wanted to comment on your question about comments...For what it's worth. I've found from the heart, that I looove comments, and I seldom answer back on my own blog, but try to go to theirs to help make their day as special as they made mine! :) Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs
Great finds Marigene! I haven't had a chance to go find any treasures lately.
I am such a sucker for old silverplate!!! The ones you nabbed are fabulous! My best score was a hugely heavy box of mis-matched pieces (with 63 forks!) on eBay, that I use for garden parties and other gatherings. I can't stand plastic silverware, and folks are stunned when you serve them with silver outside.
Maybe I should research the pattern on my pieces?? It would be cool to know what they are.

You definitely scored on this visit! I love the patina on old silver. I've never found any flatware at GW. Our stores pile everything into one box and it's difficult to sift through it without putting it all out on the floor (which I won't do). I'll need to pay more attention to what might be in those bins though. ;-)
Have a beautiful day. ~ Sarah
Love all your silver pieces. It's really fun to mix and match our old pieces isn't? I had a banner day out junking yesterday and found a wonderful old silver champagne bucket...$4.00. I plan on using it Thanksgiving filled with whatever Fall foliage I can find around the property. Happy Silver Sunday.
OMG, How fun to find such great pieces and for such a good buy... their gorgeous!!!
Blessings~~~ Daphne
Hi Mimi,
this is a wonderful find. I imagine, I will see this flatware sometimes on your tablescape, right? This are wonderful patterns. I must laught to reed that something just jump in your cart. LOL. That is what always happens to me.
Greetings, Johanna
Goodness! That was a good shopping day!
Oh My Gosh! What a deal! They are so pretty. Can't wait to see them in a tablescape. laurie
You are giving Kathleen a run for her money with these bargains! Great finds.
What a great find and I love the pattern. The table is just beautiful! I have my grandmother's dishes and use them on holidays and other special occasions. Last year I gave our daughters Mom's china and Grandma's china. It was hard to do but it's time for them to start the traditions with their families. Enjoyed reading your posts!
You really scored. There is no way my Goodwill would price any silverplate with the ordinary silverware. Congrats!
Wow! What an amazing find at such a great price!!
Wow, that was quite a find of silver. I love mixing up silver pieces ... you will enjoy these. Have a nice Thanksgiving,
А! Grazie per questo distacco, è stato molto utile e ha detto un sacco
