Let's Think Spring!

Once again, it is time for Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps On The Porch. Thank you for hosting my favorite meme, Susan.

To enlarge any picture, just click on it.

This week I decided on green and white for no special reason other than green is my favorite color.

I started with a off-white machine made lace tablecloth that I found at the thrift store long ago.

I layered green and white plates and topped them with some Homer Laughlin Priscilla soup/salad bowls that belonged to my husband's grandmother and was gifted to me at Thanksgiving, by his cousin, Beverly. Back stamp says Homer Laughlin Made in USA HOUSEHOLD INSTITUTE Priscilla. The Household Institute line was the result of a 1941 agreement between the Homer Laughlin China Company and the Club Aluminum Company. The line was purchased specifically for Club Aluminum's continuity plans in their food stores divisions and was produced for several years.

The green dinner and salad plates were purchased at TJMaxx, both on sale, a while back. There is a shield on the back with a B in the center, Made in China. The white inner plate was a thrift store find.

The "charger" plate, which is actually a dinner plate.

The "dinner" plate. The backstamp has Totally Today, Made in China. Replacements, Ltd. doesn't list the pattern name or actual maker.

Salad plate.

Soup/salad bowl.

Layers of plates!

Back stamp on the soup/salad bowl.

The glassware is Anchor Hocking Wexford produced from 1967 until 1998.

Placesetting.

Placesetting with early afternoon sun hitting the table.

Centerpiece is just candles and a wicker topiary orbs in a green/white urn, all of which were found at thrift stores.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog...it is very much appreciated. Hope to see you again next week.

Marigene, that "rim shot" of the stacked dishes is SO pretty! I love your "new" floral bowls -- that pattern reminds me of some dishes my grandmother had. Lovely green and white table!

Green is also one of my favorite colors. I like this tablescape. The table cloth reminds me of the old crocheted ones my grandmother used to make with thread! You seem to have a great eye for deals as well. Way to go Marigene!!

You are thinking spring, and for us Texas gals, it will probably be here sooner than for some who are snowed under.

I love green too, and this has such a great shade of it. My favorite shot of all is the one with the layers of plates. That REALLY shows how lovely the edges are.

What a fabulous shade of green! It really DOES make me think spring. With all this icky snow on the ground, I needed a pick-me-up like that! I am so sick of this cold weather, and it's just beginning for us here in the Kansas City area! February is often much worse than December and January. :-( Thanks for stopping by my place earlier, and I hope you have a really restful week! Take care!

Hi Marigene...

Sooo very pretty and sooo spring like, my friend! I love your sage green plates from TJ Maxx...the embossed pattern is just gorgeous! I think that this pretty green paired with white just sings of spring! Ohhh...and the salad bowls...sooo pretty! It seems to me that I remember my grandma having that pattern. I'm not sure what happened to them. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spring table with us and also all the lovely photos! I loved the photos of the sunlight shining upon the table!

I also wanted to thank you for coming by and taking a peek at my silver tablescape! I really enjoyed your visit and sweet note, my friend! You asked about the manufacturer of the white plates with the intertwining silver rings. There are no marks whatsoever on the back of the plates. I have wondered if someone handcrafted them...I just don't know. Anyway, thank you for the sweet compliments! I really have enjoyed that set!

Warmest winter wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design
