I can't believe it is almost Valentine's Day...that means that February is half over!

Inspiration?...let's just say pink isn't my favorite color, but I didn't want to do another red table right off...so, pink it is.
I started with a pink tablecloth and pink napkins. Then I hunted around the house to see what other pink I could find...not very much as you will see. After taking most of the pictures I decided placemats were needed!
I started with a white charger, added a dinner, salad and dessert plate.
White charger. The backstamp is just MSE
Old British Castles by Johnson Brothers.
Salad plate is by Buffalo China, the pattern Rebecca.
Dessert plate is also Johnson Bothers Old British Castles.
Place setting.
Pretty pink stemware. The water glass is Indiana Reflections, which are reproductions of Depression Glass, Madrid pattern. I have no idea what the pattern/maker of the wine stem is.
Pink napkin wrapped in a vintage white with a flowered napkin ring. Sterling flatware is Oneida's Afterglow, 1956.

The "roses" in the little julep cups are actually for the bath...I just used toothpicks to hold them in floral foam!
Question for anyone...how do you get sharp pictures in candlelight? Mine are always grainy looking.

"Pretty in Pink" Love the plate layers..centerpiece is perfect. The stemware is beautiful, such a soft color. Great job...as far as the photography, I think you just need to keep playing with it with different settings on the camera...that was a BIG help wasn't it !!!

One of the problems that I have had selecting pink pants and shirt is that two shades of pink often don't go together. But you made it work.

I love the way you layered the plates and combined pink shades and patterns so artfully! I'm not an expert by any means on taking pictures by candlelight (although I enjoy trying). I always use a tripod, and I've found that it's important to have at least some additional light besides the candles (either a lamp on in the room or natural light through the windows in late afternoon/early evening). Hope that helps a little.

I just love how those roses look on the place settings. It really dresses up your table. I don't have much pink either...I don't why that is. Everything looks so very romantic and elegant.

Would you believe I owned a set of 12 of those Old Britain dishes..the red transerware and now I have to think of something else....also just recently gave away my good china to my daughter...but I will forge ahead!..why? Because of you! Hmmm..isn't there a song...

A perfect Valentines table for two! Of course the Johnson Bros dishes are always perfect for a table like this. I really like the Buffalo china salad plates. Looks like restaurantware, which I love!
Lovely layering of your plates! I just love that closeup of the stacked rims. And your pink glassware is perfect with the Old British Castles! Have you done a tablescape with the beautiful china in your header? My "good" china has that shade of blue, and I'd like to see how you've set a table with it.

Marigene, I have had 8 of the Old Britain Castles dinner plates in my shopping cart at replacements.com for about three weeks!! I really, really want them! Are they more pink or red?? Yours look great and I love the pink stemware. Just gorgeous!!

Thanks for visiting On Crooked Creek today and leaving your sweet comment. The place mats were purchased locally. They are from C & F Manufactoring. . .however; they are also in the TouchStone Catalog the Tangiers pattern.
Plan to pay about $10.00 each. . .$6 ~ $8.00 each for the napkins. Table runners are available in 36" and 54". Check with your local home decor shops first. Sometimes they will do a special order.

You are right! It is addictive. I've always loved to set a table, I just didn't know people were taking pictures and blogging about it! I get so many beautiful ideas from y'all! I love your table. Those have to be the most fabulously colored roses! Wow. I love your glassware too. I would love some heavier pink glasses, the depressionware I have is just too fragile to use much. Your plateware is interesting with the castle scenes. Every plate has a story. I like the way you can take items intended for other uses and incorporate them into your tablescape.
