Wow, this past week has gone by so fast...it is time for my weekly visit to Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Thank you for hosting, Susan. Just follow the link so that you may enjoy many beautifully set tables.
To enlarge any picture, just click on it.
This week's inspiration comes in the form of a vintage tablecloth. The table topper is bright and cheery with the lime and magenta on an off white background. It also has some of my favorite flowers, peonies, morning glories and day lilies.
Close up of a corner.
The place setting consists of a lime charger/dinner plate, white dinner plate, magenta salad plate and white/lime polka dotted dessert or appetizer plate.
Stacked plates.
The glassware is a plain clear water glass and an Indiana ruby Diamond Point patterned wine glass.
The flatware is Oneida sterling in the Afterglow pattern, 1958.
The centerpiece is a vaseline glass pedestal dessert dish with candles.

Hi Marigene!
Oh, I really like this table! That tablecloth is gorgeous and and all the dishes just set it off wonderfully!
Marigene,
The tablecloth is wonderful and certainly was a great starting point for your tablescape. I love the mixture of the new and vintage.

Marigene,
Beautiful tablescape! Adore your Big Dollar table topper purchase! The lime green is currently so popular that it is sometimes hard to realize that it was equally as popular in the 50's! Thank you for such a lovely post!
Fondly,
Pat
great color combination....i have a tablecloth almost the same that was nanna's.....the only difference is mine has roses with some pink added in....the polka dotted square plate is great, especially with the charger...

Love the tablecloth and the polka dot dessert plate.
Marigene!!!
Loved the lime polka-dot dessert plates-would look good with your lemon bars!!! I still have your recipe and make them often! The table cloth is similar to one of my Mom's.

Love it! I think this is my favorite so far...but I haven't been visiting too long. The tablecloth and the centerpiece are fabulous! Lynne
You set a lovely table, Marigene. This is my first visit to your blog but it will not be my last. You've created a lovely spot for your readers to visit. I'll definitely be back. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
love, love, love that tablecloth!
The first thing I noticed was the pretty tablecloth...it looks so vintage! The green in it really comes out with your dishes. Love the candle centerpiece, too. Great job!
XO,

Marigene -- love that vintage table cloth and the vaseline cake pedestal -- no to mention the Indiana glassware -- what fun colors to work with and it turned out so well. Joni

A touch of spring is just what we needed here recovering from a major ice storm that left us without power for 20+ hours, a truck frozen shut, trees down in our driveway and lots of trees and branches down everywhere around us. Garage door is frozen shut, doorbell frozen shut. Sun today but still hasn't melted. I love the square plates of course. love, bbb
I love vintage table linens. Your table cloth and table are absolutely beautiful. Wonderful colors!
The tablecloth sets the tone and I love the colors together. Another great setting that hopefully signifies that Spring is right around the corner. We need some cheering up here in the northeast. Well, we can dream........great job as usual.
Love,
Delma
That table topper is amazing. Love the colors and the print! I can't believe how well you were able to match the colors in your plate stack! Then you top it with that adorable polka dot plate! So cute. Love the Vaseline Glass..lovely with the lighted candles. Hugs, Linda
The table topper is full of wonderful colors. The polka dot plate is great! I am a big fan of lime green too. I can't believe that I had never heard of Vaseline glass before, and had to Google it. :o)
Beautiful, Marigene, you put together such a gorgeous table! I love that vintage cloth and those glasses, perfectly put together with the dishes, love this one!
I love the colors this week. So colorful and bright. I especially like the polka dot plates that add some whimsy to the table. Can I have lunch on this table with you?
Love the bright colors..vintage and modern looking at the same time! That table cloth is awesome. What is Big Dollar?
I look so forward to your tables every week. You do some amazing things with them. I have a tablecloth also the same. This table really made me think of spring when I'm looking out my widow with 4' of snow. Thanks for brighting my day each week. Jean
Marigene, I love the tablecloth? It sounds like it is a new vintage-look cloth but I have a similar looking one that is really old. I like the colors in yours and you brought it all together with the dishes and napkins. My frustration with my several vintage tablecloths is that they don't fit any of my tables. So I do as you do, and angle them over another one. And I do remember "back in the day" seeing table cloths angled over a table anyway (with none other underneath) and looking quite pretty.

Love the clean crispness of your table. Your tablecloth sets the tone for a beautiful table. Thanks so much for sharing.
I just welled up when I saw your tablecloth. My grandmother had one similar to that. It - along with thousands of other precious memories - went up in flames when her house caught fire. Wow...to see those peonies. Good memories! Beautiful & innovative color combo. I want to steal that stemware right out from under you! :-)
What a great color combo! That tablecloth is wonderful, and those glasses wow!
Of course I love the polka dots too
Your table Is as bright as Spring! Where the H is Spring, cold and windy today, and rain tomorrow.

Marigene, hello again! I am so glad you posted this. I have an authentic vintage table spread that was my great-grandmothers, but as it was too small to fit any of my tables so I never considered using it. I will now!! Thanks for the inspiration!

Your tablecloth is gorgeous! I love colors. Such a unique table, beautiful!
Hi,
Your table is so pretty! I like how you showed us step-by-step how you did it. Your silverware is so close to mine that at first I thought it was the same. Mine is "Louisiana" by Onieda, and I got it back in 1978.
Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting the other day.
Best and God bless,
Kathy
Hi Marigene, I almost missed this beautiful tablescape. How I LOVE your vintage tablecloth. What could be prettier? You pulled all the colors out with your dishes and threw together a lovely table. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Interesting you have a dinner plate like mine. :)
