It's Warming Up In Kansas!

We have gone from wet and cold to hot and humid all within a week...so much for spring, let's get right into summer heat!

I am not sure if the table runner was the inspiration or the hot weather! Oranges and golds are not just for fall, at least not in my house.

I found this table runner last year at Goodwill, had stuffed it in a drawer, forgetting about it. While looking for something else I came across it the other day and decided to do a summer table around it. Erin gave me some orange and white tulips for Mother's Day, plus I have tons of peach colored iris blossoming right now...so it was settled, the table this week is mimicking the summer weather...hot!

The charger plates are Better Homes and Gardens in an orange. The dinner plates are Ralph Lauren Boxwood, the salad plates, Ambiance Collection Tuscan Gold and the bouillon bowls are a new addition, as of today, John Maddock & Sons, in the Manchester pattern, that I found at our local 'antique' store. They were $12 for 8 pieces...I had to look them up, of course, eBay has the same ones, 6 for $74.99 plus $61.25 shipping...I would say that I got a fabulous deal.

The glassware is Indiana Glass Company's Diamondpoint in amber.

Rim shot!

Place setting.

Full table.

Flowers, the iris are from my yard.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog...I really appreciate it and the comments you leave.

I will be joining Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Thank you for hosting each week, Susan.

I love your colourful tablescape. I agree that orange isn't necessarily a Fall colour; it is so bright and cheery it reminds me of summer for sure!

Hope you enjoy the lovely weather there. It is finally getting cooler here and I think it might nearly be time to get the heaters and fluffy slippers out of the cupboards! I love winter in Australia!

Best wishes and happy week,
Natasha.

I did not like orange too much until I saw your table. You may have changed my mind a bit about that color. The table is fantastic and looks very welcoming to me. The flowers are a perfect match. And....what about those bullion bowls? You and I are the best at finding bargains. Some day don't be surprised if I ask for your address so I can mail you some dishes to give you some new inspirations. I am just that sorta guy. Again, as always, great photographs, too.

What a pretty table! I love those bullion bowls! That is a great find at a great price! It felt pretty warm here today also. I hate not having spring. Still if it inspired this gorgeous table then it's a good thing. The tulips are so pretty! hugs, Linda

A really nice tablescape. I like the pics with the outside light brighting the setting.

Our Goodwill store opened across the street and we there is a Big Lots about a mile south. Now you can come to Hilliard and shop.

Orange has always been my least favorite color but you've managed to make it look good! Where are those nice, bright orange goblets?
Again, you've outdone yourself. Flowers are beautiful.

That looks very summery. Glad you are finally getting warmer weather. Who needs Spring anyhow? I was just looking at some orange flowers at the nursery today. It is so different from my normal summer flowers, but I may go for different this year.

Gorgeous flowers! Fab table as well. I'm not much of an orange fan, except for at Halloween. And then not much then either. But I do like your tablescape.

Oh, yeah...you TOTALLY hit the jackpot with the bouillon bowls! What a fantastic find at an even more fantastic price!!! I NEVER find anything that good! The orange is a great foil to the summer-like heat. I can't believe it's already in the upper 80s! It is storming here now and cooling down for the weekend. Hallelujah! Thanks for stopping by my place earlier this evening. You helped to make me feel better. I hope you have a wonderful week, and I'll "see" you soon! :-)

What a lovely table. You sure got a great deal on those dishes! Beautiful flowers too. We usually jump from really cool springs to hot summer weather as well in Virginia. Love the colors of spring but not so much the weather ...I do prefer our Fall as the perfect VA weather.

Marigene, this table is sooo pretty! I'll be honest -- I'm not normally too keen on orange, but this is really beautiful. I am keen on paisley though, and the colors look lovely. Iris is one of my favorite flowers, and they look so pretty with your tulips. And finally, those bouillon bowls are fantastic!! Don't you love to get a great bargain like that? We're on vacation, and I just found a bargain myself at a local antiques store. Yay! Thanks for sharing your lovely table!

Hugs,

Denise

What a gorgeous table, with all those warm shades of amber and paprika! I did rain quite a bit last night. There is something very soothing about rain to me, and so I slept really well!
