Peonies On The Table

It is time for another trip to Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday with our host, Susan. Please make sure you visit the other tablescapers to see what they have done this week.

To enlarge any picture, just click on it.

Followers don't forget to sign up for my giveaway. You can get to it from this link...GIVEAWAY The winner will be announced Saturday, May 28.

The inspiration for this week's table was the gorgeous peonies from my front yard. With all the rain and wind we have been experiencing the past couple of weeks I had to go out and cut some before they were even sadder looking than what they are.
I have used the tureen that is in the giveaway to hold the peonies.

Can you smell the wonderful scent of the peonies...it is heavenly.

I used some beautiful ecru crocheted place mats instead of a tablecloth. The toile Waverly napkins were a yard sale find, new still in the original packaging for only a dollar. The flatware is from World Market.

I have added a white charger, two white plates and cranberry soup/pasta/salad bowls. The bowls are from a CSN giveaway that I won from Cuisine Kathleen back in the winter. Sorry it has taken so long to show what I used the gift certificate for. Thank you again, Kathleen. The design is a fleur de lis. I also got 4 matching 12 oz. ramekins.

Charger edging.

The dinner plate is Johnson Brothers Snowhite Regency circa 1968-2003.

The dessert plate has no backstamp so the maker/pattern remain unknown. The pattern is birds with reeds/leaves. They are my favorites, so if anyone knows anything about them I would be interested.

The design on the bowl was really hard to get, so I ended up going out to the porch hoping to cut some of the glare.

The stacked deck!

The taller glassware is Longerberger, the shorter is an unknown maker.

The table is set and waiting for the guests.

Thank you for leaving a comment each time you have visited my blog, it is really appreciated. Hope to see you here again soon.

Marigene - another beautiful table! Where on earth do you store all these beautiful dishes :)

My peonies are just beginning to bud so I won't have blooms for a while but I am already excited for next year because I just added a baby yellow peony this spring.

Beautiful table and I love the red bowls!

Love those red peonies. Mine were much eariler than the pinks. Your napkins are just perfect, and you have a nice variety of white dishes. Hasn't the wind and rain been terrible?

Hi Marigene,

My goodness, your peonies are spectacular! They appear to be a really deep pink or magenta(?) Peonies are one of my favorite flowers, and every year I say I'm going to plant some, but so far, I am peony-less. The tureen is the perfect container for these flowers, and I really LOVE those crocheted placmats and toile napkins. What a pretty table you've set. Thanks for your visit to my blog and for your kind comments. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Denise
