April Cornell Place Mats

Most everyone knows by now, green is my favorite color...this week the inspiration came from these beautiful April Cornell place mats that I found on a recent trip to Savers. When I saw they were only $1.99 for the set, I couldn't get them in the basket fast enough! The picture really doesn't do them justice, they really are beautiful. This is the first time I have seen any April Cornell at the thrift store...now to find napkins and a tablecloth by her would be great.

The green rimmed dinner plate is by Mulberry. I have had them for ages.

The apple green salad/dessert plate is Waechtersbach. I got these at Amazon.com 3-4 years ago.

In the summer I use many of my soup bowls for salads. This one is by Johnson Brothers, the pattern is Snowhite Regency.

The clear glassware is Noritake Provincial and the green is Lenox Antique (I have them in brown, also).

The napkins and flatware are from World Market. The champagne flatware pattern is Madeline. I have the green and almost used it, but thought the champagne would bring out more of the tans/golds  in the placemats.

The rim shot.

The centerpiece is a tuberous begonia I bought for the back porch.

Thank you for visiting today. I do hope you will return the next time.

I will be joining a few parties this week:

Let's Dish at Cuisine Kathleen
Wednesdays Bunny Hop Party at Bunny Jeans Decor
Thrifty Things Friday at The Thrifty Groove
Seasonal Sunday at The Tablescaper
Thank you ladies for hosting each week!

Hi Marigene!

I think I like green as much as you. I am always in awe over your ability to come across such pretty items at the thrift stores. I have no doubt that you will be able to fine more April Cornell items.

Thanks for sharing at my party again this week!

Gorgeous as usual! You do have a wonderful knack for table setting and you are starting to give Kathleen a run for her money on bargain shopping :) Sometimes I wished I didn't live so rural so I had more access to thrift stores, the nearest Savers here is 80 miles away.

The AC placemats are beautiful with the black background making the print pop.

Hi Marigene,
I love the green and the placemats and I can't believe the deal! The napkins on my post tonight are also April Cornell which I purchased at HomeGoods for a good price. I was so excited to see them there so I grabbed them and ran! Have a wonderful evening! Linda

Marigene,
WoW! Those placemats are stunning! I adore the way you've put your dishes, flatware, napkins and stemware together in this tablescape! That pop of red in your centerpiece is just beautiful, dear friend! Savers...Hm~m~m...we don't have those on my end of the Prairie. Sounds like a great place for finds at wonderful prices!!!

The placemats are beautiful! Love the different shades of green in your dishes and napkins! I went to Savers for the first time last week. They had very few dishes, but what was there was priced very inexpensively. Certainly didn't see anything as fabulous as your placemats! Thanks for sharing!

I love those placemats. They would be just PERFECT in my kitchen right now, too, because I'm doing green with black.
