Autumn Royalty

A few years back one would only think of rich oranges, reds, yellows and browns as fall colors, now
purples/plums/aubergines top the list.

I started with a tablecloth that definitely depicts fall; pumpkins, colorful leaves, people with long sleeves, rakes...this is my favorite one for fall which reminds me what it would have been like a hundred years ago. Plus it has great colors...

I started layering with woven placemat to which I have added a plum dinner plate that is being used as a charger. On top of the purple is an aqua plate topped with a plum plate.

The glassware is my favorite of the purples I own. I think this came in an amber also, that I foolishly didn't purchase.

The knife and fork is a very plain pattern I can't seem to find any of the books I have. It is 1847 Rogers. The spoon is Oneida/Community Forever, circa 1939.

Rim shot.

The candle holders are amythest with gold. I used cream colored candles.

I have again used the compote from my friend, Sue Z, this time filled with mini pumpkins and gourds.

While I love, love, love it all, Marigene, I have to tell you that the purple just totally ROCKS this table! What a great color to play up this time of year! It really does have a royal flavor about it!!! I think the flatware you chose to use is PERFECT atop that great tablecloth. The style looks like one that may have been used during that time. The simple lines of it are fantastic! Beautiful stemware, too! Shame on you 1000 times over for not getting the amber! :-)

Hi Marigene!

I always love it when you use your purples. I saw some purple goblets at the thrift store and thought about you :) I talked myself out of them as I am running out of storage space :(

Your tablecloth is just wonderful with all those vibrant colors!
