Fall On The Prairie

This week inspiration came in the way of a cream, tan and grey tartan hiding in the tablecloth armoire. I have the perfect dishes to go with it, too!

The dinner plate and bowl are Taylor, Smith & Taylor Autumn Harvest. I like to use them a couple times during the fall season.

The cream salad plate is unmarked, but I believe quite old. They have probably been used more times than any other plates.

The glassware is a smokey grey. I have green ones like them.

The very plain fork and knife are 1847 Rogers, pattern not known by me. If anyone knows the name of the pattern, please let me know. I would love to find more pieces. The spoon is Oneida Forever, circa 1939. The napkins are Cynthia Rowley in a pale grey blue with my favorite woven napkin rings from World Market.

The centerpiece is one of my many tureens, this one a gift from friends, sitting on a scrunched up crocheted runner. The candle holders are some I have used many times. This time I just sat mini pumpkins on them instead of using candles.

Rim shot.

Thanks for stopping by...please come back next time.

I do hope you will follow me to a few parties this week.

Your photo are terrific, Marigene! I also love seeing more of your dining room :)

What kind of new camera did you get?

Marigene,
I adore the hues of this plaid, subtle! The use of pale blues and natural browns is stunning!!! Scrunching the lace runner brings softness and a play of romance to our cool Autumnal evenings. I, too, place pumpkin shaped candles atop my wooden spool candleholders on the dining room table in the lower level Family Room! A tiny berry ring beneath...love that idea, dear friend! Your photos are crystal clear!!!Lovely Fall on the Prairie, indeed!!!
Fondly,
pat

When you happened upon that plaid throw, you found a whale of a treasure to build from!!! I love the colors in it! Those are the colors I would love to use to redecorate our master suite. Certain grumpy people who live here, however, are resisting change. Hmph! :-) Your rim shot this week is particularly cool!

Those salad plates deserve to be used over and over again, they are wonderful. I have wanted wheat dishes forever, but always talk myself out of them b/c they seem so seasonal, but now you have yearning for them again. I love that plaid. All together it's perfect! Dianne

Lovely table. I have another autumnal Taylor,Smith &Taylor pattern, Leaf 0' Gold, that I love to use in the Fall. The "very plain" Rogers flatware is in fact called "Plain." I found mine on Etsy and at a local thrift shop. Happy hunting! It's not usually identified by pattern.

Hi Marigene, I love your pretty table with the layers of dishes. My favorite thing is the soup tureen. Gosh, does that make a pretty centerpiece, especially on your scrunched up runner.

Such pretty dishes and the tartan is perfect with it. I love the little touch of blue in the dish and the napkins. The blue goes so pretty with the browns and just gives it that punch! It is so fun to have seasonal dishes that come out just a couple of times a year. They bring back such great memories don't they.

Good morning. I always enjoy stopping by to see what is new on your table. I don't think I have ever noticed/seen your cabinet filled with tureens which I just happen to love.

Gorgeous!! I love your pile of dishes, each one is lovely. The tartan, plus the lace runner is perfect and the antique flatware is lovely too. You always make the greatest tables, dear Marigene. The center staged tureen is to die for! Thank you for your lovely and kind visit. Big hugs,

What a lovely, serene table, Marigene! I really love those vintage dishes with the tartan beneath. My mother has that exact same tureen! I think it's so pretty to display in the fall, as well as useful for serving soup.

Your table is so lovely with the tartan and the great stack of dishes. The dishes I used this week only come out a time or two a year. That makes them very special. Your blue napkins are perfect for the setting.

I love the tartan. Isn't it funny how something simple like that will form the basis for such a beautiful table setting. I keep eyeing my fuzzy plaid afghan on the Windsor bench, wondering what kind of a table covering it would be.
