Nature Challenge

This week Cuisine Kathleen challenged us to a nature theme...birds, bees, flowers and trees...I chose to do the only thing I could think of that used my favorite blue green combination...dragonflies. The salad plates are trimmed in blue and green, so I ran with it...

I started with square green woven mats. These were $3.98 for 4 at Savers.

To the mats I have stacked 3 plates...charger, dinner and salad.
Charger-Gibson Regalia
Dinner plate-Wedgwood Hedge Rose
Salad plate-Portmeirion-Lakeside

The flatware is Oneida Louisiana.

The glassware are my favorite cobalt stems. They are such a vibrant shade of blue, I use them every chance I get.

I used a plain cobalt napkin held with the dragonfly napkin rings.

The centerpiece is just a low white bowl with a few tiny plants and a little squirrel holding a pine cone.

Thank you for taking the time to visit today...hope you will be back again.

I will be joining

Heavens to Betsy...that's got to be the most brilliant and enthralling shade of blue for a glass I have ever seen. Kind of like Paul Newman's eyes....the color just draws you in! :-) (I miss ol' Paul. He was a sexy little number!)

You and Savers! I tell ya...you must have a little side deal going with them because you always come out of there with such great stuff. I can NEVER find anything I like. EVER!!! I think I'm going to have to tail you there one day just to see what's up! :-) :-) :-)

I always get dragonflies and butterflies mixed up. I need to study my entomology a little more. They all look the same to me: CUTE!

Have a great rest-of-the-week, Marigene!!!

Love this table! So bright and fresh. The blue goblets look magnificent!

I've had plenty of ivy dry up on me but I recently read somewhere that for ivy to survive inside, the leave must be wet once a week and not just misted. So, I stick it in the sink once a week and give it a shower. Seems to be working. We'll see!

Hi Marigene,

So nice to meet you!

I love colours that usually aren't paired together, like red and pink, for example. Case in point: your cobalt blue and olive green are gorgeous together! This setting is so fresh and lively, and the dragonfly theme is pure spring! Your jewel-like napkin rings and squirrel centerpiece are charming!

Thanks for visiting Poppy View.
