Peonies Are On The Menu!

This week the inspiration came in the form of peonies from my yard. They are gorgeous, but not as many as other years. I also have a climbing rose at the back porch that is almost the same deep pink color so I mixed them. We are supposed be getting severe storms later this afternoon so I decided to bring a few inside to enjoy as there may be none left outside later.

I started with a tablecloth that has a black background, yellows, pinks, greens and a little bit of a bluish grey. It barely covers the table, but that didn't stop me from using it.

The table will be used for a very light luncheon...a green salad, dessert and something drink!
I have used the green triangular plates as chargers again. This time I topped them with a light yellow square salad plate.

The napkins are held with beaded green rings.

I have used Oneida Afterglow sterling this week.

The glassware is Artland Iris in light green.

Thanks for visiting today...do come back the next time.

Stunning Marigene! Just stunning! One day I will get brave and plant some peonies. Your table shawl is the perfect back drop for everything from the plates to the glasses to the silverware! Just lovely! (Oh and we have had rain storms off and on all day today).

Raining here and cool but going to have a heat wave next. Geez, snow on Saturday and 90's this Saturday??

Fabulous tablescape...our peonies won't be out for a long time yet. love, bbb

Marigene, that tablecloth is just stunning. Can't believe you got it at Savers. Your flowers are so pretty. I still love those triangular plates, and the square yellow plates look so good on them. Pretty stems too. You asked me where I got my pariotic tablecloth. I've had it for about 15 years. I have no idea where I got it, but I love it. It is a dream to wash, dry, and put on the table, and after 15 years, it still looks good. laurie

I have fallen in 'want' with that tablecloth. Oh my...it is calling to me. And peonies are my very favorite flower. I transplanted three of my peony bushes, so they are a bit slow this Spring...excited for next year. You've done a gorgeous design. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

Marigene...I just love this table, it's so vibrant! And your peonies make the perfect centerpiece. I used to have tons of peony bushes lining the side of my house. Then we had some major renovations and they were just destroyed, So I love seeing them on blogs!

XO,
Jane

There's a deep mystique about this table. The dark background of the tablecloth lets the bright colors pop. It's like "Yes, I'm hiding something, but here's a distraction of bright colors to keep you happy!" That sort of thing! I LIKE it!!!

Your peonies are so, so pretty! I hope the storms didn't mess with them! I watched TV yesterday and today. I know up around Seneca got hit.I have family in Bern and Sabetha, both of which are close by.

You continue to irk me with you gift of thrift snooping! I tried again last week to no avail. It was all just junk. I DID find, however, a great walker for my Dad at a thrift store in Grandview, MO!!! It already had tennis balls on it and everything!!! Not nearly as exciting as your beautiful tabletop accouterments, but still...I found a good bargain! :-)

Have a great weekend!!!!

Oh my....your peonies are a MUCH deeper color than my pink ones! Very striking & so is your tablescape, Marigene!
I love the Artland Iris in light green color...so versatile, I bet you get to use the a great deal.

I hope your storms aren't too bad. I just came in from cutting armloads of my flowers for the same reason.

Oh, Marigene, the color of your peonies are breathtaking! Mine haven't opened yet and they are pale, pale, pale! How fabulously the tablecloth goes with the color of the peonies. They are just a glorious flower aren't they? I need some with a lot more richness like yours.

I have peonies this exact same color, and, coincidentally, they match roses as well. It is such a bold color, made even more dramatic with your fabulous tablecloth. Very nice!

Your peonies are just gorgeous!! I love them on the table, and I really love the fact that you chose darker linens. I would not have thought to do that, and it gives the table a whole, special look.

Your peonies made a perfect transition from the garden to the table. Beautiful table!! I'm working on a tablescape with peonies, I have the pictures taken for the post has not been started, maybe later this week.

I cannot wait for my peonies to bloom. Right now they are still tight little buds, but it won't be long before they open in full glory. No matter what you do to a table, with peonies as part of the setting, it's perfect. I love your tablecloth.

I just love your flowers they are gorgeous. My peonies haven't bloomed yet, and I don't get that many blooms on each bush.
Love the drama of this table with the black, so pretty!
It is like Labor Camp here, work, work work! By the time I come in I am exhausted. Mike is getting tired of hoopy scoopy dinners! :)
