Christmas Challenge

I have been busy looking in magazines, Pinterest, blogs, etc. for ideas on what I can build for Cuisine Kathleen's December Christmas Challenge without buying anything. I think I have come up with fairly close copy of Opulent Cottage's 2009 Christmas table. Thank you, Andrea, for doing that gorgeous table I have tried copying...hope it isn't a disappointment! Cabbage leaf plates, red plates, green stems, silver flatware, a sleigh centerpiece. I did add a "runner" for the sled to sit on and a few trees. I couldn't find any printed napkins or little tree plates so I improvised with mini sleighs and tree napkins!
Our weather has been over cast and rainy for the past 4 days so the photos are not very good. I took a few without the overhead light. I am disappointed in how they came out.

After  I had already taken pictures, I decided to "make" green trees...a napkin fold! I placed them over the handle of the  forks.

This picture was taken with the special effects program.

This is Andrea of Opulent Cottage's table that I copied...what do you think, did I or didn't I...be honest?

Thank you for taking the time to visit today...hope you will return next time!

You did a fab job! You took inspiration and ran. I definitely see the reference, but you've made it your own....that's the way I like to do it as well. Nicely done. :)

Wow Marigene, you absolutely hit it out of the park with this one!! I love your table. The colors are all so bright and cheerful. I love that you chose a plaid table runner (I'm really mad for plaid). :-D

Your sleigh with the snowman is beautiful, and so are the little sleighs on each plate. The best thing of all, though, are those Christmas tree napkin folds -- awesome!! I'm no good at napkin folds at all; I guess I just need a lot of practice.

Your whole table turned out lovely, Marigene. Thanks for sharing and have a great week.

Hugs,

Denise

You came very close, Marigene, and it is lovely! I looked at that one too, but I didn't have nests like that! I love your napkin fold, I have never tried that one! Is it hard, ie, curse worthy? :)

I think you did a great job with your table. I am really enjoying this challenge and getting a lot of ideas. I have that tree napkin fold on my schedule for this year. Will I get to it? Who knows? I may have to do it in a different color for spring. ;-)
