Christmas Table #2

Being married to a man with no carpenter skills I asked my friend, Angie, if her husband, Bryan, would make me a "box" to use as a centerpiece focal point...I think they both thought I was nuts until I showed them what I wanted. I told Bryan I would be painting it so not get too fancy with it...wrong...I decided at the last minute I would be giving it a light stain. So...here is the "box"...thank you Bryan and Angie for asking him!

Oops, I see a pine needle on the plate...those plates are white not, gray like the weather!

Sorry for the quality of the pictures...we haven's had  sun for days, so I have had to use overhead lights, which are not photo friendly.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today, hope you will return next time.

I will be linking up with

Red tablecloth/Savers
White Napkins/Savers
Red berry napkin rings/Goodwill
White Basket Relief dinner/salad plates/Pier One via Savers
Santa dishes/WalMart
Green Ivia 1895 Hobnail goblets/Tuesday morning
Oneida Louisiana flatware/Savers
Candles/World Market, Savers, Goodwill

I think the lighting is warm and cozy! The box came out great, and I like what you filled it with. I still need to fill by box, and love the versatility for all holidays and seasons. Love the Santa table! We have sun today after a few grey days, so I quickly took some photos.

Love the centerpiece, so pretty. I am trying my carpenter skills at making one. My dh is a carpenter, but he is opposed to adding anymore STUFF to the house. So I will give it a shot. There is one in the copycat pic I selected to do for Wed.'s challenge.
Very pretty table, M!

Hi Marigene! Love your table and the centerpiece. I love those long boxes. So much can be done with them. I also love a traditional red-and-green Christmas decor. I falter some years and do different colors, but all paths lead me back to red and green!

You are spreading Christmas cheer!

Marigene, I love your box decorated so beautifully for C'mas, along with the darling dishes! Wow, so lucky to have a friend that made it for you!
I'm inspired by you to use my tool box for C'mas too, as I've only used it for Fall décor.
Happy holiday season my friend.

Something about this table just makes me want to sit down with my family and have a meal together! I love the simplicity of the plate stack with the highlight of the Santa plate. Centerpiece is perfect (now I want a box LOL) and as always you have the best glasses in blogland!

Linda

I'm crazy for boxes filled with whatever suits the season. Your table is right on for the season, but I'm not surprised.

I love the box as your pretty centerpiece, Marigene. I still treasure the box that my beloved hubby made for me, and I can't bear to take it off my dining room table.

Bryan is a sweetheart for knocking that on out for you! I think you wet the right direction in applying a stain rather than painting it. In the end I think you'll be able to get a lot more use out of it if it isn't a specific color. The box looks great on your table and isn't too high for guests to see over. Great job on the whole table!!! The red is so pretty...it really says Christmas!

We finally got sun today here, and I hope you got some there, too. I almost didn't recognize it!!! :-) I think we'll be sunny for a few more days, so you and I had better take advantage of it!

Big hugs to you, Marigene!!!!! Great job!

Simple, but oh so pretty. Your neighbor is a real sweetie to make that box for your centerpiece, it looks wonderful! I love the green wine glasses, they sparkle so prettily with the reflection of the light. I really like the red and green, those two colors together say Christmas to me. I saw those Santa plates at Walmart, I even had them in my cart but I made myself put them back. Now I wish I hadn't......... Candy
