Daffodils That Will Never Fade!

I found these cute daffodil napkin rings, that were made in Italy, at Savers late last summer and have been waiting to use them. Now is the time, before spring turns to summer or I will have to wait another year. Actually I am a little late as there were no daffodils for the centerpiece!

Black and white seemed to be the best background to show off the napkin rings...so I started with a black and white checked tablecloth, and black woven chargers.

The plate stack is a Mesa International charger topped with Waechtersbach black dinner plate and finally a white unmarked salad plate to which I have topped with a black napkin held with the star of the table...the daffodil rings.

I wanted the flatware to be simple, so I, again, used the International stainless. I don't know the pattern...maybe I should spend a little time researching it...yeah, in my spare time!

The glassware is Luminarc, made in France, Rhine wine stem.

Can you believe I couldn't find any daffodils for the centerpiece! I tried the flower shop in town, the local grocery and WalMart...no one had any and there were none in the yard this year. I settled on white daisies which I put in canning jars after trying them in a tall vase.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today...please come back the next time.

I will join Foodie Friday and Everything Else/Rattlebridge Farm.

Garden rumor has it ... Daffodils and Daisies love to talk it up and mingle. :) I like the mix, and I prefer a short vase to a tall one any day, especially at a table.
Beautifully set.
Much love.

This is a stunning table - black and white with the strong accent. I have been reading your blog since just before Christmas and you have inspired me to start a new table setting hobby. I even located a Savers about 50 miles from my house. (I really live in the middle of nowhere!) What I like best about your settings/tables is that it looks like you could actually sit down and serve a dinner.

Great find on the napkin rings! I am waiting for my patch of daffs to bloom so I can use them! Lovely table, always a winning color combo!

What pretty napkin rings! I think if you would have had more daffodils on the table it would have detracted from them. Love the black and white background.

Marigene, The yellow of the daffodils against the black napkin is is a beautiful dramatic contrast with the black and white checks of the tablecloth. This is one of my favorite looks. The yellow pops to make this a memorable table setting. I love the addition of the platter behind the tureen on the hutch. I picked my daffodils yesterday to do a tablescape for today but had to finish up the tax returns (all of the paperwork was spread all over the dining room table) and get them posted instead. Maybe I will get inspired tomorrow.

Marigene,
Showstopper daffodil napkin rings, dear friend!!!
Black and white with green is my favorite color palette for tablescapes!!!The PoP of yellow signals the Spring Season beautifully!!!
I adore how the canning jars stretched the length of your table!!!

Oh the napkin rings are simply delightful - and the perfect ones for the black and white table. The daisies are perfect too - going so well with the black and white - I think I like them better than if you had used daffodils. Put watermelon napkin rings on the napkins and you'd have a quick summer table setting too. Just love this one!!!!!

I love the jar of daisies parading down the center of the table, Marigene. They were a good choice since you couldn't find the daffodils you were hoping for. Those daffodil napkin rings are so stunning and perfect on your black and white table. My, those stemware are the perfect choice!
