Plaid and Cabbage!

I recently found this bright green plaid tablecloth...what I didn't count on was it being a very lightweight wool. I sprayed it with water to get wrinkles out...instead it puckered up!

Black napkins with yellow woven napkin rings seemed to go best with the table.

When I first saw the colors I knew I would be using the bright yellow Secla cabbage dishes that I practically stole from Savers a couple years ago!

Starting with black woven chargers I added a white Royal Stafford dinner plate. To this I added a green depression type salad plate topped with the Secla cabbage individual covered soup bowls.

The yellow handled flatware is vintage Oxford Hall, pattern is Perfectionware.

I used black stemware...think it is Libby, but don't know for sure.

The centerpiece is a large cabbage tureen holding the gazpacho; green wood candle holders with chunky white candles and the dessert which is a zucchini blueberry cake with lemon buttercream icing.

Thank you for visiting today...come back next time.

I love the colors, everything looks stunning. What luck to find this beautiful plaid tablecloth. The green, yellow, and black colors are perfect for setting the black chargers with the white dinner plates. The yellow tureen cabbage bowls on the green plates are simply beautiful together.

Sorry the wool puckered! Hate things like that. It sure makes for a bright and cheery table!

Hi Marigene,

I honestly never would have thought to use these colors together, but they look great!! I just love tartan plaids, and this color combination really pops! Your yellow cabbage bowls are sooo pretty, and they look perfect with the flatware and woven napkin rings. You always set such pretty and festive tables, Marigene. I've really fallen behind in my tablescaping this year -- just too many other things going on.

I hope you're having a good summer and hope you have a great week!

Hugs,

Denise
