A Little Sun And A Little Grey In The Kansas Sky

I was drawn as winner of a nice package from  At Home With Jemma/Thoughts Of Home On Thursday  a few weeks ago. One of the gifts was a tablerunner made by Jemma.  Thank you, again for all the wonderful treasures, Jemma. The colors fit this week's weather perfectly...sunny one day and grey and rainy the next...hence the yellow, gray, white and black tablerunner became the inspiration for this tablescape.

I chose some grey and white ikat type napkins to go with the runner. I used the same International flatware as in the last tablescape.

The dish stack begins with the Pier One wood chargers, yellow Bordallo cabbage, grey Design Ideas dinner plate and finally a yellow frilly BP cabbage salad plate.

The smokey glassware is a thrift store find.

Being lazy and not wanting to go out, I used my Iittala Festivo candlesticks for a centerpiece.

This is what Jemma sent in the gift pack, table runner, napkins, gold foiled eggs, page marker,  a tiny cake cookbook, birthday notes and a cute little green Easter bunny.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you will come back next time.

I will be joining some fun parties this week.

Hi,
Thanks for your comment! I love what you said: "Better to be a truck lady, than a bag lady!" LOL! I could probably be a bag lady too with all my accumulated stuff! It is stored away in Rubbermaid bins tho!

Love this gray and yellow, and the story of the gray and yellow tablescape! I wear gray with yellow a lot! Yellow always catches my eye, hence the yellow truck!! ;-)

Happy Spring!

Oh I love it - and it is perfect for Kansas - I remember it well. After moving there from California I was sometimes frustrated by the quickly changing weather - I wanted sunshine to last day after day like it did in California. But we adjusted - and here in Washington we also have the quick changes - sunny and warm yesterday - a big cloudy and cool today - rain showers tomorrow and then back to sun. What fun! I love the combinations that you put together for the table setting. The glasses and napkins are perfect with the dishes and table runner. I always love it when you use the cabbage dishes - I'm afraid if I were there I might drool on the plates - I do envy you. And what sweet treasures from your internet win - lucky you. And thanks for brightening my day and rescuing me from my printer woes.

Such a great tablescape. We are bumming tonight as we wait to hear how Bob's sister is doing. She was put in ICU because of a leak from the surgery she just had. bbb

Congratulations, Marigene, on winning Jemma's pretty table runner and other goodies. You surely enhanced the table runner perfectly with your dish stack, the thrifted goblets, napkins, and your candleholders (easy peasy, but so pretty!).

I saw where you won that prize...congrats!
Those colors of grey & yellow together are SEW "in" right now...very popular with the younger crowd. It certainly matches our weather, too, but more grey than sunshine for sure!
Your yellow cabbages are just darling & I love all the items you added to them. I can totally relate to "not wanting to go out"...HURRY UP SPRING!!!

That runner looks wonderful especially with your tablescape. I like the candlesticks because they reflect the same circular shape as seen in the fabric. The dish stack and napkins look perfect with this. Great colors!

Perfectly put together table. Congrats winning the attractive runner. You ran with it and designed a great tablescape. I love all the Bordalla patterns and the Ikat napkins are perfect companion linens. Your candlestick collection worked well as a centerpiece.
Sorry, I'm a little late. I had my family all last week at my home. Ten to cook for is different than 2!

I love the pattern on the runner. It looks charming with the sunny yellow of the cabbage plates. I have been crushing on yellow and grey lately. I am trying to incorporate those colors into my decor as I am going through the house to paint, decorate, and stage everything to get the it ready to sell. I have been missing visiting your blog, I hope all is well.
