Thank You, Susan...

This week I will be joining Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal for Silver Sunday. Make sure you stop by to see what others are showing at the silver party!

Back on my December 23rd post, I showed some silver that I didn't know the pattern, but had 2 serving spoons, that I loved. Susan of Between Naps On the Porch e-mailed me with the maker and pattern name, which is International Silver's Frontenac. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! She also warned that the pattern was fairly pricey!...she was not exaggerating! Not to be deterred, I looked on e-Bay and found several pieces. I bid on 6 teaspoons and got them at a price that I never dreamed possible. I just plain lucked out! They were mailed on December 28, 2009, and I finally received them today. I thought for sure they had fallen into a black hole when I didn't get them after a week!

Here are my long awaited teaspoons. I just love this pattern, in fact, I am obsessed with it, which is unusual as I tend to move toward something a lot less ornate! Thank you, thank you, Susan, for knowing the pattern!

I will be checking out a couple antique stores to see if I can find a few more pieces at reasonable prices...I just know I won't get a deal like the teaspoons!

Click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend, y'all!

Beautiful pattern. Is that an initial or just a scroll on the handle? Good luck in hunt for more pieces. That is half the fun isn't it?

What a gorgeous pattern! LOVE the lily design.
To identify patterns, I found the best reference is "Silverplated Flatware" by Tere Hagen. I think it's in its 4th edition; I have the 3rd edition, and it's rare that I can't find the pattern I am seeking in there.

I love the Tiger Lily pattern that you mentioned from my post --love it so much that I found a service of 65 pieces, for 9, thru Craigslist, and bought it for my sister for Christmas. I blogged about it on 12/29/09 -- if you are interested, you can go to:

http://cass-thatoldhouse.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas-present-miracles-old-and-new.html

and take a look. I was almost hoping my sister wouldn't like the set! It is called Tiger Lily, and also Festivity, in silverplate, and in sterling the pattern is called Amaryllis. Keep collecting; it's so much fun!

I can see why you loved this design so much. Just when I think I can't find something I want, e-bay comes to the rescue. P.S. I liked the kitty too.
