A Little Red and White with a Punch of Yellow
This week the table is red and white...extremely simple as it is soooo hot and humid here on the plains it just saps any energy one might have. Right now it is 100°, cloudy, thundering, and ready to storm...hope that it cools it off a little.
I started with a white damask tablecloth and solid red napkins, added red dinner plates (Waechtersbach), which are being used as charger plates. From there I used my white Wedgwood Hedge Rose plates layered with red and white checked salad plates.
The red stemware is from a CSN giveaway last year...thank you again, Linda of A la Carte! The wine glass is one I have had for quite some time...Goodwill if I remember correctly!
The red is really bright and cheery against the starkness of the white.
I tried a couple different centerpiece dishes and ended up liking the footed one best. The garden only has a few scraggly blossoms right now due to the heat and lack of moisture, so I have used lemons as the centerpiece.
The rim shot!

I will be linked up with Between Naps On The Porch, once again for Tablescape Thursday. Please take the time to drool over the other tables that can also be seen there. Thank you for hosting this fun meme, Susan.
I am also going to join Sue for Rednesday.
Thank you for visiting my blog, hope you will return next week.

Those red check plates are so cute! Love red and white and yes it is too hot for much right now. I don't even feel like cooking!
hugs,

I do love those red-checked salad plates, I bet you use them quite a bit, so versatile!! Don't you just love decorating with lemons? Adorable tablescape!! Thanks for visiting with me!
I love both of the glasses. I love the punch of color from the lemons.
This is very cute and refreshing! Great summer colors!
I hope you get the rain you need. It is very humid here, too.
XO,
Jane
Marigene,
The energy is this tablescape is stunning!!! That pop of yellow paired with the red & white brings about a sense of accomplishment. Perhaps it will be what I need to motivate me into getting something done in this heat. Hard to believe that as a child I managed to sleep in an upstairs bedroom with no air conditioning and had so much energy!!! HA! Guess I'll have to accept that it is my age? Nah!
Fondly,
Pat
If the plate has red, I'll gladly eat from it!
GIVE ME RED RIBBON
Give me red ribbon to tie in my hair,
Not yellow or purple or green;
But burgundy, chestnut, carmine or rose—
These are the colors with sheen!
Give me red ribbon to tie in my hair,
Not saffron or opal or blue;
But fuchsia, magenta, ruby or blush—
Something of sanguinous hue!
Give me red ribbon to tie in my hair,
Not indigo, azure or grey;
But scarlet, vermilion, dahlia or pink—
Colors like these make my day!

I hope you got some relief from that storm. We have hot temps here and humid. Snow looks so good to me these days, LOL! Very pretty table, Marigene, I love the red checks :)
Those checked plates are wonderful, Marigene. This table really lets them be the stars, but the red glasses give them a run for their money! I hope you did get some rain. We are SO dry here in central Texas. Temps are to be 109 this weekend.
There is nothing better than red an yellow. I also just love your header. The colors are perfect.
Simple but beautiful, Mimi! Love the vivid coors of red and yellow...Christine

I hear it is REALLY HOT and HUMID there. It was actually humid here in the desert last week, but this week it is dry and the temps are in the mid to high 90's. Strange weather. This weekend will be back to 108 and up...

Love your red & white checked plates~ how versatile they are too! I can just picture them for a picnic if the temperature was 30 degrees cooler~ it was in the triple digits here too today so I can sympathize!

Love those checked plates! Pretty table.
I love the red and white plates.
What a fun table! I could envision those plates on a Kentucky Derby-type tablescape as well! And you can never go wrong with lemons.
Hi, Marigene! Long time no see! I love the yellow lemons in there with the red. Really punches it all up! I know what you mean about the excruciatingly hot weather. It makes it impossible to entertain outdoors. I don't even want to go outside to get the mail!!! Try to stay cool, have a great weekend, and I'll see you next week!

Simple but stunning....love it!
Ugh to the humidity, I hate hate hate it! You did so well in energy sapping conditions.
