Another Green Fix!

It is time, once again, to join the rest of the tablescapers for eye candy to get us through another week of beautiful tables.

This week my inspiration came from a platter, a pitcher and metal candlestick, all in green, which by now everyone knows is my favorite color. This is a very simple table this week, no frills, not even a tablecloth.

The pitcher and 16-inch platter were found taped together at Savers for only $6.99. As soon as I spotted these on the lowest shelf mixed in with flower pots I knew they were Bordallo Pinheiro before I ever turned them over. I have no clue what the patterns are on either piece, but know they are not a set.

I started with a rattan-like charger, added a white Gibson dinner plate, which were $2.99 for a set of 4. I then added a green salad plate, a birthday gift from my friend, Kathleen of Cuisine Kathleen a few years ago. I topped the salad plate with a plain white soup bowl. The soup bowls were 25¢ each at ARC Thrift Store a couple of years ago.

The glassware I have had for years, not sure where I bought it.

The green and white napkins have been around for eons, too.

The centerpiece started with green 17" tall metal candlesticks, found at Savers for $5.99 each, which is more than I usually like to pay, but, they were green! I used the platter, added those cute little white mini pumpkins with a handful of pecans...hey, I told you I would get mileage from those pumpkins!

Sorry the photos are so dark, it was a rainy day when I took most of them...it later cleared up and the sun came out.

Thanks for visiting my little mundane blog, In The Middle Of Nowhere, it is very much appreciated. If you leave a comment I will be sure to visit you!

I will be joining:

Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch
Wow Us Wednesdays at Savvy Southern Style
Wednesdays Bunny Hop Party at Bunny Jeans Decor and More
Thrifty Things Friday at The Thrifty Groove
Seasonal Sundays at The Tablescaper

I just love your green tablescape because green is my favorite color, too. Too bad we don't have a Savers store!

Okay... you have to know that I love Bordallo Pinheiro dishes! That pitcher is so unusual, must be old?

I know you go to savers but have never seen one. Is it a resale store?

Those candle sticks are quite unique and adds to the whole tablescape!

Thanks for coming to my Bunny Hop Party.

What is this Savers place??? I'm going to have to Google that to see if there's one around here. You got some really terrific bargains!!! There are so many places I have never been that I find out about from reading others' blogs. I'm so happy!!! Your green addiction is shining tonight! I didn't think your photos looked so dark...they just seemed to reflect what was going on in the room, the ambiance of the moment. :-) Have a great night, Marigene, and have fun out there "In the Middle of Nowhere" this weekend! (You kill me with that title!!!)

Pitcher and platter envy! What a great find. You have created a wonderful greenscape. My table is dark tiger oak arts and crafts, which I love, but it too photographs dark in pictures. I've noticed that using a white table cloth brightens the pictures, so sometimes I use it when I'm taking pictures, but I also just love using the table showing the beautiful wood. While your pictures are sometimes dark, the green really pops. Thanks for posting! ~CJ

I think both the platter and pitcher are just fabulous! I would love to own them both. I love the way the platter works as the anchor for your fall centerpiece. The place setting is great too. I think I'm the only person in blogland without rattan chargers. Grrr.

And I hear ya about the lack of sunshine for pictures. I tried for several days to take a picture of something I wanted on my blog and finally gave up.

katskraps4kids said...

hmmm....I have just discovered you can paint glass & I had gotten a green plate form a thrift store and JUST TODAY- I painted it white...now after seeing how beutiful your table settings are I am thinking I should have left it green. SO beautiful!!
