First 2013 Tablescape

I am so ready for something that doesn't have that yuletide look...don't get me wrong, I do love the holidays, but it is time to move on to something very simple.

Everyone knows by now that my favorite color combo is blue/green, so I am starting the new year with it.

I found the Tracey Porter plates on the top shelf at Saver a while back...if you are under 6' tall you would have missed them unless you check every stack of dishes out, like I do. Most of the time they put the ugliest dishes on the top shelf, like the ones with huge patterns from the 70's! These beauties are from the Stonehouse Farm Collection and the pattern is Dream Delicious.

I started with new tablecloth and napkins, also from Savers in lime/cobalt/aqua large plaid. 75% of the tablecloths I find are brand new...I am not sure why, other than maybe they were gifts the recipient didn't like or maybe people that aren't into tablescaping  just don't use tablecloths anymore. The tablecloth was $3.99 and the napkins $1.99 for 4.

The layering started with a white charger, the dinner plate and finally an apple green salad plate.

The glassware is cobalt seeded glass and a handpainted wine stem ($2.99 for 4) that had some of the same colors as the plates.

I happened to have some fun napkin rings that have the same colors as the linens...these were found a month or so ago...they had my colors and jumped into my cart when my back was turned...by the time I noticed them I was at the checkout so home they came! They were $1.99.

The rim shot.

I told you this was going to be a very simple table!

Thanks for taking the time from your busy day to visit for a few minutes...I really appreciate it. Please feel free to leave a comment so that I know you have been here.

I will be attending a few link parties this week and do hope you will follow along with me.

Marigene,
I love this First 2013 Tablescape!!! When "Mr. Ed' and I were first married...these were the "hottest" colors!!! This, at one time, was my favorite color combination, too! Now, I'm back to my Traditional roots with black, white and Lime green for a pop of color!!! So~o~o looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful tablescapes in 2013!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Marigene, I have had blue on my mind all week and trying to come up with a blue tablescape. Don't know if I have enough "stuff" to pull it off. I was at TJ Max and saw a display with some green pieces and it was so refreshing. So I think you are right on to move on to blue and green.

Marigene, your Tracey Porter plates were a great find. I lucked into a complete set of Mary Englebreit cherry dishes at Good Will once. I think no one had spotted them because they were on a high shelf. Pays to look up. LOL

What a nice display. I too love blue and green, and the plates are gorgeous. I like the glassware as well. Guess Ill have to leave the top shelf to those who can reach it.
