I guess I am on a blue kick right now. This is a table just for the fun of setting, it isn't one we would sit down to eat at. The inspiration for this table begins with a click of the mouse...eBay. I was looking to see if there were any more Vera Bradley My Home Collection blue chargers. What I found were 5 dinner plates and 3 mugs in the pattern...at a price I couldn't pass up, less than $40 for all. There is a seller asking $24.95 for one mug! I knew I got a deal when I saw that listing!
I have started the layering with the blue charger and on top of that is a Gibson Regalia dinner plate. Next is the VB blue dinner plate that matches the charger, next in the stack is an unmarked creamy white luncheon plate. The next layer is Bordello Pinheiro salad plates in The Frog Service pattern. The final layer is the Copeland Spode Valencia cream soup set.
The April Cornell napkins are brand new from Savers, they still have the original price tags. I paid $1.99 for 4 of them...I just notice one is different than the other three! They are all the same colors so I didn't notice it until I was setting the table. Can you detect the odd one?
The glassware is Colony Whitehall in light blue and the wine stem is Noritake Provincial.
The centerpiece is just a blue and white handled cachepot with a few apples, white candle sticks and candles. I am into simple so far this year!
These dishes make a really nice placesetting even though they won't get used this time!
Thanks for taking the time to visit today and leaving a comment. Please come back the next time.
I will be joining a few parties again this week, please follow with me.

I do love all the blue. Lovely photography of your tables cape.
Stunning as always. bbb
The Vera Bradley is so beautiful. I love your tall stack. Your napkins are such a bargain, and I am in love with the blue glasses. Beautiful and refreshing table. Joni
I think this is all lovely. I didn't even know that Vera Bradley had a home collection. I'll have to look around. Your stack is wonderful and the frog service is darling. I've seen that on other blogs, but have never come across it shopping. Great buy on the napkins. ;-)
Gorgeous, simply gorgeous! And what a great bargain shopper you are!
I'm sure your "other" sister will love this table....anything blue! The alternate layers of white and blue make me think of a flower....really pretty...
love you,
jude
I wish April and Vera would make an appearance at our local second hand shops! What a gorgeous table! Great buys :-)
Marigene,
This blue tablescape is stunning!!!
I love that you were able to find more of your collection! I, too, found a few pieces of Bordallo Pinhiero while at our local Antique Mall last week. Each piece I find makes my heart race with excitement!!!
Love how the April Cornell napkins compliment your place settings, along with your choice of stemware!!! I'd say tablescaping In the Middle of Nowhere is off to a great beginning in 2013!!! Keep 'em coming!!!
Fondly,
Pat
This is gorgeous Marigene. I love putting together fantasy tables. So much fun!
The colors and textures in your table
are fabulous.
What a beautiful table. I love the added pop of green in the compote. hugs ~lynne ~
Marigene this is gorgeous. I love blue and this is just a gorgeous layering of blue and white. Wonderful napkins and I love the simple centerpiece. Great photos also. Hugs, Linda
Very nice....why not sit down to a nice meal with this setting? It would cheer up our blustery winter day today. Love the blues you've been showing lately. Keep 'em coming.

Delma
Your blue and white layers are so pretty and fresh, especially with your apple centerpiece! I love the AC napkins with your dishes! I would never have noticed one was different. No Savers or CTS in my neck of the woods...*sigh*...:)
I love the napkins, especially how you placed them in the glasses! I have no blue dishes, so I enjoyed seeing this - very pretty!
I didn't even realize Vera Bradley made dishes!! I love the April Cornell napkins, what a deal. We would have never known that they didn't all match if you hadn't told us :) love the whole look!
Beautiful! That is some stack! I couldn't find the odd napkin!
Love that handled bowl.
Thank you for joining us at Let's Dish!
I love the blue and white together, but that burst of green apples in the cache pot is wonderful. What great deals you get with your Vera Bradley and April Cornell.
Hi Marigene, I think it is fun to set a make believe table once in a while--no need to think about what food or beverage will go into each dish. Your table is so appealing. I always love blue and white and the green apples add a nice accent. A VB store just opened in our local mall so I will have to go and see what goodies I can find there! Linda
No way I would have noticed the "odd" napkin had you not pointed it out. Everything blends so beautifully! You got the deal of the century, lady! Wow...so pretty!!! I love blue, and this is the shade of blue that makes my heart race. It seems so long since I've set a table with blue....and I miss it! I hope your week is going well so far. Enjoy the rest of it!
Funny you mention being on a blue kick. I've never been much of a blue person, but recently the color has caught my eye again and again. Maybe I'm reinventing myself.....again! Love your bargain blues.
Love that last little handled bowl on the top of the pile...it's so cute...
Stunning and striking layers of blue! The Vera Bradley are lovely and the blue glasses are great with it all! Thank you for your sweet and kind visit. Big hugs,
FABBY
Oh how pretty! I really like this color, Marigene, very similar to Polish pottery....Christine
This is beautiful Marigene! All of it just looks stunning. And I love it on your bare table. Your table is just so rich looking. thank you for sharing at TTF this week. Have a great day!
I didn't even know that Vera Bradley had dishes...I love that color of blue. The table is so crisp and fresh...very pretty!
This turned out so pretty!
I didn't know that Vera Bradley had dishes, either.
What great bargains a and a beautiful table. I have a couple of Vera Bradley bags, but had no idea that she made dishes. I love this set, so am going to have to investigate these. I'll restrain myself, of course, my interest is purely academic. ;-)
I love the Vera Bradley blue charger and I have 8 of them but do not know the pattern name -- do you.
Your photos are lovely.

Hi darling, thanks for stopping in to see the post on the pie.
hugs ~lynne ~
What a unique table setting! I love how you stacked the plates. The colors you used really look great, especially the green apples in the blue dish in the centerpiece. Lovely!
Blue and white -- always a fave! But those Copeland Spode Valencia dishes on top of the stack? GORGEOUS! I think I "need" some of those! The cream soup is darling with the little flower inside!
Beautiful. I just love that cache pot centerpiece! So pretty all of it!
Karen
I am so loving those dishes! You definitely got some thrifty deals! Blessings, Tammy
Really pretty table, Marigene! Love the blue dishes all stacked up like that.
Wow, another hit with your blue and white. Love the stack of dishes, I'm going to look for Vera Bradley on ebay. Beautiful table and the green apples top it off.
What a great stack!!! I have those chargers.
Great to have you be a part of Seasonal Sundays.

I think we can call this your "blue period," just like Picasso! I just love the simplicity of the green apples! Thanks for sharing this at the Farmhouse Style Blog Hop this week! www.greeneggsandgoats.com
What a beautiful stack. Love the shots of the detail on the edges. I also love that cachepot. It's gorgeous. Your table looks so pretty, and no, I couldn't tell which napkin was different. laurie
Love the blue and white! Beautiful tablescape! Is the napkin that is different the one at the head of the table (in front of the buffet)? Love a challenge!!!! LOL
