Spring Brings More Green!

My lilacs are in full bloom, but will be gone in a couple days if we get the temperatures the weatherman is forecasting, upper 80's.

This week my inspiration comes from the triangular plates I found at Goodwill a few weeks ago...you know me and green, those babies hopped right into my cart!
***I forgot to add they were 99¢ each and got them on 25% senior discount Tuesday, so the cost was 74¢.

I started with my all-time favorite tablecloth, it is dark cream/ecru. It was given to me by my sister a few years ago.

The plates are quite large, 11½"x11¾". They are almost completely flat, no lip or well to keep the food on the plate. There is a backstamp, but it is so light I can't make it out on any of the 8 plates I bought. After Googling, for what seemed like hours, the closest I have come to finding out anything about them is the maker is possibly Festiware, which is restaurantware. If anyone has any ideas on the maker, please let me know. They were hard to photo without getting reflections.

The salad plates are octagonal with a bamboo-like rim and the same shade of green as the dinner plate. Each plate has a different fern in the center. These were bought at Goodwill a couple years ago. They were in the bottom of the hutch and I had forgotten about them until I was looking for storage for the dinner plate...oops! The only thing on the back is Made In Italy.

I have lots of napkins with green, but thought these with a tiny polka dot looked the best. I used bee napkin rings, just because! Being the right shade of green I have used The Madeline flatware from World Market.

Setting an all green table gave me an excuse to use the Ivima 1895 green stemware, again! I love it.

The green candle holders also have that bamboo look. I used a metal  urn for the white faux roses.

*** Added after I hit post.

Thanks for visiting this week...please come back next time.

I will be linking up to:

Festive Friday Fiesta/The Home Girl
Seasonal Sundays/The Tablescaper

Thank you ladies for hosting each week!

I was going to use a mini rose for the centerpiece, but my naughty kitty ate most of the leaves...it is amazing she didn't have an upset stomach...it outside on the porch, so she can't dine on it any longer!

Saw lilacs in bloom in Chester and Springfield today but not out in Windham yet. We had snowflurries this a.m. and it is bitter cold. The surprise Monday tablescape sure helps chase that cold away. bbb

LOVE the plates. Ferns are my weakness be it interior or exterior.

I like how all the plates have different prints on them. You have the gift of putting all sorts of things together and it looks like it was meant to be. Great Job! Sue Z.

Pretty greens! I love the lilacs, one of my favorites. After Sandy I thought mine was a goner, but it came back, full leaves, but only one bloom. Next year should be full again. I hope.

Oh my gosh, I absolutely love the botanical plates! What a fantastic Goodwill find. Green is what we've been waiting for all winter and most of spring :)

It was in the low to mid 80s here yesterday and today!

I love your green, too, Marigene! The fern plates are wonderful and look especially pretty on your triangular bargain plates. Of course, I'm in love with your ecru tablecloth, it would be my favorite, too.

I tell you, Marigene...you know your thrift shopping!!! You are able to find some of the most unique stuff, and you always get it at such a great price!!! No wonder there's nothing out there by the time I come sauntering through the stores on that side of the state line!!! :-) I* would say I'm green with envy, but then you might snatch me up and throw me in your shopping cart! :-) :-) :-)

I really dig those green triangular plates. I like how they are oversized. That just makes more room for food! :-) It's double the value since you can use them as either chargers or plates! The fern plates are great, too!!! (I have fern artwork in my office.)

I hope this hot weather doesn't kill off your lilacs. It really is scorching. Ramon and I were just contemplating turning on the A/C. It's REALLY warm in here right now even though I brought in lots of cool morning air with the attic fan.

It seems like what I’m seeing are all green. Is that your favorite color? But I certainly like the weird shape of that triangular plate. Until now I keep on wondering who designed that plate. I love the lilacs. They’re so adorable and stunning as a centerpiece. Good taste, keep it up!

Oh Marigene, what finds! I can't believe the triangular and the oxtagonal plates came from GW and at different times. They are perfect together, and that bright green is so "in" right now. I love that there is a different fern on each plate. And of course, the goblets look gorgeous with this scape. I'm also surprised your cat didn't get sick. Beautiful table. laurie

What fun plates! I love the unexpected and that shape certainly is unexpected. Our Goodwill has nothing...ever. The shelves are always so empty and what they have is junk, I've yet to find anything there. You get very lucky! The greens are so fresh and pretty for this time of year!

Hi Marigene! I'm so jealous that you have lilacs, I grew up with them but they don't grow well where we live now. Your table is gorgeous, what a steal on those fun plates! I love thrift shops!
