Another Nontraditional Christmas Tablescape!

I love the traditional Christmas colors, but really prefer nontraditional much more.

Inspiration for this table came in the way of a piece of fabric I bought back in the summer. Black/pink/green/red. I ran with the green and pink!

The base of the setting is a black woven charger to which I have added Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage leaf plates in green and pink.

The sterling flatware is Oneida Afterglow, circa 1956.

The stemware is a pink water/tea glass and a green etched wine glass.

The centerpiece is just a small tree in a black garden urn.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today...do come back the next time.

I love this tablescape. The dishes are so neat, and I love the idea of basing this on a fabric you love. If those green glasses go missing, you needn't look far! ;-)

Yep! You did it!!! Isn't it fun getting inspiration from a single element that ends up growing as big as the ocean is deep? Your inspiration really took off to new heights! You've given ME the inspiration to try a tree next year that includes my favorite color pink. You did a great job with bringing new life to your Christmas decorating!

Merry Christmas! Enjoy your fabulous tree!!! (Love it in that urn!!!)

Marigene - I absolutely love everything about this post. I am crazy about fabrics that have a black background, since the black makes all of the other colors "pop". It is so much fun to see how you used those other colors in your plate stack and I adore your vintage stemware (swoon!). Home run! Hope you have very Merry Christmas!!

I adore your color choice! The tree for the centerpiece is wonderful. Isn't it fun to get inspiration from something like a beautiful piece of fabric or a linen? Even the urn the tree is potted in is perfect. I think using the nontraditional colors just adds some more fun to decorating!

I love it!! I love the cabbage plates and I love the pink and green. You really do not have to use traditional Christmas colors to have a holly, jolly Christmas tablescape. Great job!!!

Love your fabric....it says Christmas to me! I love that you used the pink & green colors too! Very pretty. I find its nice to think outside of the box.
Thanks for stopping by! I am feeling better today. I am grateful that we will be on our own for Christmas since I don't feel well. If everything doesn't get done it will be ok.
Have a great Christmas!

Wonderful table scape. It seems very festive and looks like Christmas even without the traditional colors. Those green goblets are a wonderful pop of green to blend in with the dishes.

Love the new take on Christmas colors! This reminds me of my uber talented friend, Cindy's tables capes. I'll want to make sure that she sees this. The black adds a touch of sophistication to an otherwise whimsical design. Thanks for inviting us for a peek, and Merry Christmas! Cherry Kay
