The last few tables have been really bright and lively...this week I have toned it down to just pink and white. The weather here has been overcast, then the sun will come out for a few minutes, then flee behind another bank of clouds...makes it hard to get good photos as the dining room only has north facing windows. I don't know enough how to adjust my camera for better pictures, which doesn't help!
I started with a solid pale pink cotton tablecloth...notice I even ironed it! I have very few pink napkins to choose from so I found some with a couple shades of pink to add a little interest.
The sterling flatware is Oneida Afterglow, circa 1956.
The glassware is pale pink, unknown maker.
The stack of plates began with a pink Bordallo Pinheiro chop/charger plate, that my sister, Judy found for the unbelievable price of $1 each at her local thrift store in Vermont. The next plate is a white Royal Stafforshire dinner plate, then another pink BP and finally a cute little white dessert plate with a raised pink tulip that Judy also found at her local thrift store. The backstamp says PAI made in China.
The candlesticks were originally brown and I painted them pink then distressed them...I didn't wash or stain them, as I like the way they came out.
The roses are from my yard...the pink ones I planned to use got pounded with rain the other day! Most of them are almost done blossoming until it is a little cooler weather, meaning fall! I just had to add one of the yellow ones with the pink undersides along with the pink ones. I have no idea the names of them, the two pink are climbers and the yellow is a bush type. I think the climbers are considered old fashioned? They came with the house, nothing I planted. All I know is the darker one has taken over a good portion of the back porch area...it keeps sprawling!
Rim shot!
The last photo was taken with the soft focus setting...it came out so light compared to the regular setting I use, but seems a little fuzzy.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will return the next time.

It's such a pretty table, Marigene, with your stack of dishes and lovely pink goblet. The raised tulip plate is gorgeous and I love your centerpiece and candlesticks that you painted.
Love the pink and white....some of the pics make the white plates appear green (which I like, too!!) I thought the plate with the tulip looked familiar! (I think Susie brought them back to you in her suitcase!)
Love you,
Jude
Just e-mailed you and then have the delight of receiving your newest tablescape. I love anything with pink and it is my mom's favorite color so you know she would really love this one. hugs, bbb
I love the tulip plates! I would love to have a set of the cabbage plates in pink too... especially for that price. Beautiful table!
Marigene,

Love, LOVE, L O V E your Bordeallo Pinheiro plates and chargers!!! The tulip pate atop your rimmed dinnerware is charming!
I adore using fresh flowers from the garden for a centerpiece!!!
Wasn't the four days of Spring Showers such a welcome relief on the Prairie???

I love the pink! You did such a nice job with the candle holders. I love them! Pretty flowers too.
Marigene, I do not have hardly any pink in my dish collection. That tulip plate is so beautiful! I love all your stack of dishes in tis table setting. I love the pink candle holders too My mother had pink Fostoria goblets. I was not the lucky one to inherit them....wish I had more pink. Joni
Hi Marigene....love those chunky pink candlestix and the little plates with the pink tulip....so cute!!
I think I'm in love with your sister!!! Man...she found some really great bargains out there in Vermont! Ramon went there last year, and all I got was a stupid T-shirt! :-)
I am glad that you explained that you made those candlesticks because I was going to start in on the 3rd degree about where on earth you found them. They are SLICK!!!!!! SLICK, I tell you!!! I like that soft pink a LOT! You did a great job of distressing them. Really professional!
You're so lucky to have a rose bush that proliferates. I want to try my hand at some kind of roses, but I just don't know what kind. I see a lot of those knock out roses(?) and think that might be a good place to start. Easy care is what I'm all about!!! :-)
This was a really sweet & pretty table, Marigene!!!! Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend!
I enjoyed this table. I particularly liked seeing the napkin placement. My cousin, lucky for her, got a new dining room table. And,lucky for me, her old striped Crate & Barrel tablecloth (and set of napkins) no longer fit, so she gave the set to me. I have never done anything with stripes, but I like the challenge, and am looking for ideas.
I need to go shopping with your sister! I always love your rim shots, because you create the prettiest stacks of plates (the one in your header is so pretty too). Those tulip plates are great, and I love the striped napkins too. laurie
Those tulip plates are just adorable Marigene! I also am a fool for anything pink! So pretty!
Jenna
So pretty! No really ever having been attracted to pink in my earlier years, I cannot believe how crazy I am about pink tableware. Your table is wonderful and I do love those tulip plates.
For some reason I missed seeing the pink table setting! I love everything about this one. The candle holders, charger plates to the tulip dessert plates. And not to forget about the lovely flowers you used. Love it! Sue Z.
I know how you love pink, lol! The tulip plates are adorable, the whole stack looks great! I love those pink striped napkins. Your roses are finished? Ours just started. Do you have any Knock out roses? They bloom continuously, unless your husb. Sprays deck cleaner on them which will knock them out for a season! But they are back, thank God!
