Wheat Sheaves Against The Azure Sky

This table topper caught my eye several months ago...reminded me of the wheat fields just before they are cut. The gold against the bright azure sky.

Tiny polka dotted napkins are held with blue/white ceramic rings.

The plate stack begins with an octagonal charger, then a Vera Bradley dinner plate (yes, I did use the VB chargers last week!), a Fred Meakin salad plate and finally a Bordallo Pinheiro dessert plate.

My favorite flatware by Oxford Hall Wear Ever in blue, which is a recent eBay purchase.

The glassware is a gorgeous shade of blue wine stem from the Dollar Store. I love the shape of them, as well as the color.

The centerpiece is a bowl of fresh vegetables and pitchers of basil.

Thanks for visiting today...hope you will come back next time. Have a wonderful weekend!

I will join Table It/Rustic & Refined.

I'm loving you blue, Marigene. Your stacks of dishes always amaze me with the patterns and textures, and they look wonderful on your tablecloth. The eBay purchase of the flatware worked wonderfully well with your setting. The Dollar Tree goblets just can't be beat! Happy Sunday!

As a Missouri gal, I can totally appreciate your reference to the golden fields of wheat against the deep blue open sky. I love driving along the country roads near our home and seeing the fields filled with wheat, corn, soy...it's like a summer ritual with me. It's kind of that in-between stage when summer is still going strong but we know that fall is just around the corner. It's so cool! You've captured that feel right here on this table, especially in using the fresh vegetables and basil for a centerpiece.

I feel so fortunate to live in the Midwest. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but it has really shaped me from the cradle. I had such fond memories of going to my paternal grandparents' farm up in Sabetha, KS and seeing more fields than houses along the roads. I didn't appreciate it then nearly as much as I do now, but it's a forever memory.

GREAT tablescape, Marigene!

Marigene,
Vibrant hues of Kansas Farm Life done with such graceful taste, dear friend!!!Love the blue & white dinnerware! The blue & white polka dot napkins continue a lightheated feeling with your setting.
As a young bride, I remember seeing my father~in~law and his brother and father during a wheat harvest. Their sober looks and seriousness for their crop evident throughout the meal. Their laughter at the dining table the following week was such a relief to me.
I enjoyed your garden abundance centerpiece!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Love your table, Marigene. I don't have much blue in my home but I always love it when I see how others use it.

Pretty blues, Marigene, but I was looking more at the veggies :) Don't tell me that big, ripe tomato is from your garden? All of mine are still green. Plenty of cukes though!
