The Purple Autumn Challenge

Kathleen of Cuisine Kathleen has put for a challenge to do a purple autumn tablescape using no oranges. Had I known this, I would have saved the purple table I did a month ago! I scrounged around and came up with something that I think would qualify as a purple autumn table.

I am not going to give you a blow by blow description of everything...most you have seen since I have just passed 5 years of blogging! I am still wondering how I accomplished that fete...

I hope I met the challenge, although there is a good amount of green in the tablecloth!

White Bordallo Pinheiro charger-Tuesday Morning
Purple BH&G dinner plate-Walmart
Lavender BP luncheon plate-eBay
Purple BP salad plate-eBay
Tiny square grape plate-Goodwill or Savers
Oneida Louisana flatware-Savers
Amethyst water glass-TJMaxx
Eggplant wine stem-Pier One
Tablecloth, napkins and napkin rings-Savers
Purple table runner-Gift from my friend Sue...this is the backside, the front is a pattern
Wood candle holders-Savers, painted by moi/candles Walmart and Goodwill
Fruit pedestal-TJMaxx
Beaded apples-Savers
Grapes faux/Savers, real/grocery store

Thank you for your visit today...hope you will be back next time. Have a wonderful week.

You came out with a gorgeous purple table for the challenge, my friend! Maybe you used everything before, but we see so many that everything always looks new to us. My purple tablescape challenge is with all I've ever had too.
I love the runner, dishes, napkins and glasses, all lovely.
Hugs,
FABBY

What a great job you've done with your purples! This is one table I cannot do because I don't have any purples here.

I think you did an excellent job of meeting the challenge.....love all the purples and I think the green in the tablecloth is just the right accent. A challenge well met............

Purple a very favorite color of mine and so nice to receive on my birthday. Bob's birthday too and my good friend, Judi Foster Jacobsen. Bob was an usher, I was a bridesmaid at her first wedding and that is how we met. bbb

That is so charming. I love the shorter glasses - such a sweet design. I just bought some of those white chargers like you have and salad/soup plates at Tuesday Morning, in white. All your colors are so "autumny" without the orange - love love love it.

Gorgeous table Marigene! Loving all your purple. I have a grapes theme going myself and forgot to buy grapes for my bowl while at the store yesterday, dang! I went ahead and posted anyway.

You really have a lot a gorgeous purple items, love those plates. Don't know how you managed a different stunning purple table so soon, but you sure did. :) Pam

Marigene,
Purple perfection, dear friend!!!
I am so~o~o smitten with your amethyst stemware. I searched every Antique Shop, Flea Market, Goodwill and Home Decor Shop during vacation, but alas. . .nothing to compare with yours was to be found! Notice, I still have no purple stemware!!!
Every detail from the rim shots, to the silver flatware to the centerpiece is gorgeous!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Marigene, not only are the purple cabbage plates gorgeous, they worked perfect for the challenge. I'd love to sip water from the beautiful goblets. I don't think I've ever seen your dish storage but each week you amaze me with your inventory.

This is gorgeous! I love the wine theme! I don't have much in the way of purple in my house, but I did do the challenge. Not as well as you for sure. Thanks for always doing such fun and pretty tables! I like that you can make the 'same' dishes look so different each time! It's what real life is.
hugs,
Linda

I think the grapes are a great theme- especially since the grapes are ripening and ready to pick at this time of year. Love the centerpiece and the tablecloth. Grest dish stack. Purple is one color of dishes I dont have so I got my color through other things. This was an interesting challenge!

Wow, Marigene! Your table sure doesn't look like you had to "scrounge around" to find things! It's beautiful!! Every part of it! LOVE your tablecloth and your dish stack. It all goes together so well and certainly met Kathleen's challenge, hands down! So very pretty........Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

Well, OF COURSE you met the challenge! She just said no orange...she said nothing about green! And green leaves are a natural part of grapes - which are such a huge part of the fall season - so it all works out!

I think when people are looking for a good example of how to effectively use purple in a fall tablescape that this will be a "go to" post. There's a nice mix of pattern, and the fall elements are not contrived.

You did a beautiful job of "scrounging up" things for this tablescape challenge, Marigene!! Enjoy your weekend!

I can't find your email to reply to your question, so I'll reply here. Yes, I do make all my centerpieces, and I just "lay" them together, I don't use styrofoam to put them together, they aren't permanent. When I'm done, back into the flower bin the flowers go!

I wish I had known Walmart also had the white, and the orange plates like thise purple ones, I would have loved those too!

Lovely table overall, but those two styles of cabbage plates really make me swoon, as does that darling grape dish on top. Nicely done!
