Jayhawk Time!

It is time for Tablescape Thursday, at Between Naps On The Porch. Thanks for hosting my favorite meme, Susan.

My inspiration this week came from my brother-in-law, twin to my husband...he challenged me to a table of plastic only. Of course, I took him up on it.

Before I had thought much about a theme, I found yellow Tupperware plates at the thrift store for 25¢...what to go with them, what to go with them. Oh, oh, I know...a Jayhawk table, as brother-in-law Wade is a graduate of the University of Kansas, better known in these parts, as KU. The school masot, a Jayhawk, is bright blue and red with a little yellow. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!

The placesetting is very simple, consisting of a yellow dinner, blue soup/salad bowl, red tumbler and yellow plastic flatware.

I really wanted to make a tablecloth but the material just wasn't wide enough and not being a seamstress, I had no idea how to go about piecing the material together to make a round one, so I made fringed napkins, instead.

Candle lit table.

My daughter graciously lent me the center scarf, which is just a large handkerchief; the "vase" which is a half gallon drink cooler filled with faux sunflowers...gotta have them, they are Kansas' state flower. She also lent me the tiny snow globe and the little Jayhawk figure. Thanks, Erin!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my tablescape this week, it is very much appreciated, especially letting me know you have been here by leaving a comment. Please check out all the other interesting tables my friends have been working on this week.
