Luncheon Using Noritake Luray

As promised, here is the table for the luncheon last week using the pattern in my header...Noritake Luray.

We enjoyed Norma's Potato Soup, Cannellini Bean Soup and Vegetable Chowder...dessert was Sandy's Chocolate Cake and Maraschino Cherry Brownies. Most of all we enjoyed each other's company!

I bought 4 cream soups from eBay recently that were listed as Luray, but while washing them, I discovered they are not...they are close enough that I will use them anyway. Above is one of them...there is no pattern name on the backstamp, but can tell they are from the same era by the Noritake shield.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today...do come back next time.

A Fennel Tart!

This morning I came across a recipe posted by Meike of Eat In My Kitchen blog that sounded delicious...and I had everything in the fridge to make a fennel tart. I did improvise a bit. I used about half a package of chive/shallot boursin instead of parmesan cheese and a ready made pie crust.

This is a delicious savory tart! Click on the link to find the recipe. Thanks for the inspiration, Meike!

I will join Foodie Friday at Rattlebridge Farm.

Simple, Simple, Simple

It is so cold right now...Mother Nature seems to be bi-polar this year, extremely cold and then unseasonably warm for winter. She can't seem to make up her mind!

Something bright and warm looking seemed to fit the bill for my table this week. I started with bright yellows, pinks and raspberry reds.

To that I added a pinkish napkin held with a raspberry napkin ring. Keeping with the color theme I used the same yellow handled flatware as I did last week. It makes me smile!

The dishes started with a raspberry charger, topped with white plates ended with a cream soup bowl.

The glassware is clear.

The simple hurricane candle served as the centerpiece.

Today I am hosting a luncheon of soups, corn muffins, and assorted crackers for 11 guests. Dessert will be a fruit pizza or brownies with maraschino cherries and nuts. I will be using the dishes in my header...will take some photos, if I have time.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today, do come back the next time.
