A Thrifting I Will Go....

I will be joining Leigh of Tales From Bloggeritaville for Thrifty Thursday this week. Thanks Leigh for hosting this fun party.

Another weekly trip to Goodwill and ARC Thrift Stores on Monday produced only a few things. Nothing really spectacular. The pickings haven't been very good the last few weeks, in fact since before Christmas! I thought that people would be donating goodies to make room for their Christmas gifts...maybe they cut down on gift giving this year, like many of us.

I did manage to find a couple Fire King plates, 2 Italian ceramic soup bowls, a clear glass candle holder and 4 tarnished silverplate soup spoons at Goodwill for a total of $5.61, which includes the 25% senior discount and sales tax. The trip to ARC was even less, only $2.

You can see how tarnished the two on the left are, compared to the two I had already polished.

I believe the pattern is Oneida's Wildwood I/Always circa 1958.
The white napkins were the only items found at ARC; 2 very large linen and 6 regular size linen. One can never have enough white napkins, in my opinion.

In my haste to get this posted last night...I forgot to add this oil painting...I found this neat piece of art at Goodwill, Thursday. I collect oils and pastels of florals. Living in the Sunflower state, I thought this was an appropriate painting to add to my collection...a vase of sunflowers. The only frame the size needed was a light colored one, but I think I like it as the painting really shows up quite nicely...in any event, it will have to do for now. I found this for 99¢. It is one of my favorite paintings to date, probably because it has lots of green! The painting was done in 1966, the same year my first child was born.

You know I really appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment. Thank you, kindly.

I love the sunflower painting! It looks great. I agree some of the Goodwill's have seem sparse lately. I found another out of the way place yesterday and hit pay dirt!

Love Sunflower paintings, they have even inspired me to grow my own sunflowers.

Everything looks lovely, but, those glasses are wonderful. The color, and the raised grapes, and the shape are all wonderful! What a great find.

Wow! That was one very successful trip to Goodwill. While I do include it on my weekly rounds I have not been so lucky for a while.

Love the sunflower painting. I would have snapped that one up also.

Thanks for the visit my way. I will be back to see what other goodies you find.

I alos loved the grape dishes in the other post.
