What The Sea Looks Like

For Tablescape Thursday, with Susan of Between Naps On the Porch, I am using shades of aqua.

You can click on each photo to enlarge it.

When I purchased the salad plates I thought they matched the dinner plates, but they are lighter and the border is washed with a sepia color, but they do look great together. I chose a pale creamy yellow tablecloth instead of white and of course, I couldn't find anything in aqua for napkins...I could have sworn I had some!

The little birds are wool, wood and birch bark wings...their face looks more like a mouse than a bird to me! The pitcher matches none of the dishes but is in the same family of blues so I had to have it.

A little pressed glass compote with a sauce ladle.

A domed cake plate with aqua orbs is being used as the main centerpiece.

I like the looks of mismatched silverplate so I have used it, once again.

Everything looks so pretty~in fact, I think it's nicer that all the dishes don't match. I have the salad plate and I use them with white. I love them! And I really love your furry little birds! :-) Fabulous table! s

This is absolutely beautiful.

I have 4 round platters in the pattern of your dinner plate, in blue. I use them as chargers. I love to mix things up. Makes for an interesting table setting.

Another pretty table setting. The turquoise/aqua looks so nice, especially with the creamy yellow tablecloth. The bright aqua orbs top it all off for me.

How nice. I'm of the opinion that domestic order helps us to manage our lives; no matter how cluttered the world outside, we can control a small space around us.

As you can tell from my blog, with all my dishes, nothing matches but they all blend together as if they were bought that way. So much more fun....and it is what makes me a junking duck. By the way, I am going to have to start that as new tag line...... I love your dishes and the little birds are so cute. Yes they do have mouse heads.

Aqua to turquoise has become my go-to shade range in the last couple of years. You got those plates (the ones with the center medallion) I wanted so badly -- they got away from me! It just proves that when you snooze, you lose!

I love your tablescape. Just gorgeous.
I know how it is when you know you have something and can't find it. It is usually at my daughter's home when that happens to me.
I really like mismatched silver, they make it that way now and call it "hotel" silver, what a coincidence, huh?!?!?

My goodness, where to start? I LOVE that blue pitcher, a dollar, really? I love the bowls too. Do you find it is hard to find a set of four or more bowls thrifting? Why do bowls get broken first? Those are my favorite colors, I absolutely LOVE it!

Beautiful table in aqua. All the pieces go so well together even though they did not come that way. I also posted a blue table today. Have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by my blog for a visit. I have been on the hunt for a straight edge razor for my shaving collection. I saw one a couple of weeks ago at an antique mall but they wanted too much $$...I'll keep looking :-)
