White and Black...

I couldn't make up my mind what to do for Tablescape Thursday with Susan of Between Naps On The Porch, so I closed my eyes and grabbed a plate...it was white with a black rim. So...black and white it is, this week. Worked out very nicely as I have a couple dozen white roses the grocery store was practically giving away Monday, plus a single pink one from my daughter! It isn't fun trying to keep a certain kitty away from them, though...a squirt bottle seems to work just fine...I don't know what it is, any fresh flowers and the kitty goes nuts, almost like it is catnip!

To enlarge the pictures, just click on them.

There is a bit of color in the soup bowl and salad plate, both have my beloved roosters!

I was surprised last week when Linda of A La Carte e-mailed me that I had won an unannounced giveaway for being the the only one commenting on the beautiful little white porcelain bird...which she promptly sent me...it is so much nicer looking than the picture is showing. Thanks again, Linda!

I love your rooster dishes! What pretty dishes! I also love your water goblets! Did you get them at Goodwill? I have been looking for those. They look just like the goblets used in the dining room scene in 'Something's Gotta Give'. They are awesome!

I loved the way you chose your plate to use for this tablescape. Too funny! Your table looks fabulous! I love the rooster plates. And the white plate with the black rim that started this whole setting is just like some small bowls I picked up at Goodwill. I would love to find the plates. Maybe someday. I've been lucky & able to pick up matching plates over the years at various thrift stores for other patterns I have. Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment.
