It's Red Hot!

This sunflower is at the steps to the back porch.

Another week has flown by...it is time to head over to Between Naps On The Porch to see how my blogger friends are dressing their tables for Tablescape Thursday this week. Thank you, again, Susan, for hosting my favorite meme. Please make sure you head over so that you, too, can enjoy
more fabulous tables.

To enlarge any picture, just click on it.

I think something very simple, in red for Tablescape Thursday is in order; the heat this summer has been so oppressive. I have no flowers in the garden that really go with the bright red...so decided to go with the pink hydrangeas that are now turning a pale green, stressed by the unforgiving heat or lack of water, or maybe it is just that time of year that they do this.

I love this checkered plate and was happy to find it in bright red.

I am using my red Waechtersbach dinner plates as charger plates. The next layer is a white Wedgwood Hedge Rose dinner plate, then a red and white checkered Royal Stafford Fine Earthenware England salad/dessert plate and finally a white Oneida Classic soup/salad bowl. The plates are all solid colors except the salad/dessert plate.

The water glass is Colony Harvest milk glass.

The flatware is Rogers/International Gracious 1939. The candle holder is Fitz & Floyd.

The flowers are from my yard. They were Nikko blue hydrangeas when I planted them, our soil is too alkaline so they are mostly pink with tinges of blue...I don't know if they are turning this light green because they are stressed or if it is that time of year when they lose their color. I really like this pale green color, too bad they weren't that color all the time!

Place setting.

Overhead view!

I am also going to join Sue at It's A Very Cherry World for Rednesday, seeing I actually have some red going on here.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look...please let me know you have been here by leaving a comment and I will return the favor!

I always want to post a tablescape but can't remember where I got some of my pieces etc. I see what you do each week, with all your photos and information that you provide and I know what a lot of work that is. You do a fabulous job, so I know you love it. So instead of me posting, I'll just keep stopping by to see your stuff. By the way, I also wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your kind words about the shop. It really means so much to me and has helped to keep me motivated. I really appreciate it.
