Wild Oats!

It is once again time to visit Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Thank you, so much for hosting my favorite meme, Susan. I am sure you will want see other interesting tables, so click on the highlighted BNOTP and it will take you there.

To enlarge, just click on any picture.

I am so anxious for cooler weather, I decided to do a very, very, simple fall table this week.

The dishes were purchased at Goodwill. The dinner plates, salad plates and a matching platter were 99¢ each, the soup/cereal bowls, coffee mugs, cream/sugar were 49¢ each. There was only 1 salt shaker, so I left it on the shelf with the other 4 place settings, which was probably foolish of me. I am totally astonished at what I have found in thrift stores for mere pennies.

The dishes were made in England, by Midwinter, Ltd. 1977-1989. The pattern is Wild Oats-Stonehenge. I checked them out on Replacements, Ltd. and almost fell off my chair seeing what their asking price is for this pattern. According to their prices, I have well over $400 in the few pieces I have.

Here is a close up of the pattern.

The coffee cups, sugar and creamer will be used for the dessert course.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and comment on Tablescape Thursday posting, it is always appreciated. Hope to see you here next week, too.

I am with Jane, where do you keep all your dishes? But if you are like me with all my collections you find the space. I just wanted to drop by and let you know that I did a link to your blog today. I was talking about beautiful tablescapes and teapots and thought about you. You always have such lovely things. Have a great day.

What amazing dishes! LOVE them and the centerpiece is fab! I am also amazed at what can be found at thrift stores for pennies! These dishes are vintage but also seem modern to me. Cool table and yes makes me feel like Fall!

I love how you matched your centerpiece to the dishes. They are really lovely, particularly for fall. I don't have much luck at Goodwill, but it sure seems like you did! Very pretty.

Very pretty dishes, Mimi! You find the best stuff to make the prettiest tables! You have just the right touch :) I can wait for Fall already!

Oh, I see you are wishing for Fall with that scape! Very pretty! And a great bargain! I love the glasses too!
As for Replacements, I did a little experiment. I asked how much it was for this Noritake tureen I have.
Oh it was very expensive from them.
Then 1 month later I asked what they would pay me for it.
2.00!!! But over 100 to buy it from them, talk about a mark up!

Wow, what a find those dishes were! They look wonderful with your centerpiece and those lovely amber glasses. You could also call this your "amber waves of grain" tablescape!

This is an unusual pattern when we are all so used to seeing florals. It would be great at Thanksgiving. And you certainly have better thrift stores than we do. Good shopping!

Your tablescapes speaks of Fall with the warm browns and amber colors! We have had such a NICE mild Summer here(well up until the last couple of days). So for once I not real anxious for it to be over...

What a great table for fall. I, too, can't wait for cooler temperatures. It has been a long, hot summer at my house! Today was in the high 70's and it was heaven.

I love shopping at Goodwill. I can't believe the deals you got on those dishes. They are just perfect for supper dishes during the Autumn months.

I try to go to GW once a week. You must be hitting the right day!!

WOW! What a great deal you found!!!
YOur tablescape reminds me of my grandmother's setting on her table out on their farm. So pretty. The gold goblets are alot like those from my childhood when only a person who had a special day (like a birthday) got to drink out of the gold.
Thanks for your visit!
