The Colors Of Autumn

It is that time of week, again...time for Tablescape Thursday with Susan of Between Naps On The Porch. The weeks are just flying by. Thank you, Susan, for hosting my favorite meme each week. Please make sure you stop by BNOTP to see what the other talented ladies and gentlemen have put together this week.

You can enlarge any picture by clicking on it!

I knew I would be doing a very simple autumn table this week, but wasn't sure what I would be using other than the wheat dishes I have been collecting the past year. These were found literally piece by piece at several area thrift stores.

I searched the linen closet for a tablecloth and settled on a vintage gold with a little fringe. Finding napkins to go with everything wasn't quite so easy. I have none that are the right shade of gold so ended up with some that have fall leaves.

The pattern is Autumn Harvest from the Ever Yours line by Taylor, Smith & Taylor. They were made between 1959 and 1965. I haven't been fortunate enough to find the saucers, salad plates or soup/cereal bowls. My search is ongoing for the missing pieces!

The cups are unusual in the way the inside is colored, where most are just white.

My friend, Diann at The Thrifty Groove sent me a box filled with fall things a few weeks ago. There were tea towels, little leaf dishes and leaf salt/peppers. I am using the leaf dishes as votive holders. Diann, thank you so much for adding to my fall dishes...I have been enjoying them so much.

I put the centerpiece on a pedestal as it needed a little height.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. I appreciate each and every one of you. I hope to see you here next week, too!

Which reminds me, I haven't seen those OTHER leaf dishes! :)
Very fallish, and yes matching the napkins is sometimes a pain! Love those amber glasses. I picked up a few at Savers that time, I haven't used them yet. Maybe in November after I use all this Halloween stuff!

Lovely gift from Diann, she is a good thrifter like you!

I think part of the fun is in the hunt for special things. You are lucky to have found enough pieces to actually do a table...love those cups! The little leaf dishes make great votives. I think it will look like fall at my house this week too!

Beautiful table - love fall colors. How unique the inside of the cups, like them much better than plain white! If you were closer I would swipe the centerpiece!!

I would have wanted to snatch up those wheat dishes too! They are perfect for fall. My mother has some that remind me of them. I need to study them to see if it's even the same pattern.

You picked a perfect tablecloth to bring out the wheat, I think, and those glasses are the perfect shade to go with it to. I would love some that hue.

All in all, just a pretty fall "wheat" tablescape all the way around!

Mimi, I really like your wheat dishes- the colored interior of the cups is so cool. And I like those multi-hued leaf plates, too. I think I like them more than my solid rust-colored ones... Thanks for coming by to leave a comment!

Well, you know I love your Whitehall!! How can you tell the difference between Colony and Indiana Glass? Mine are two different kinds but I didn't think one might be Colony. I love your whole table! Love that china too!!
