I've Got The Blues

I will be joining Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Thank you for hosting, Susan.

To enlarge any photo, just click on it.

It has been raining off and on, mostly on, for the past couple of weeks...it is getting old. I really would like to see the sun out for more than an hour or two at a time.

Inspiration for this week's table came in the mail last week. I received a package from Cuisine Kathleen filled with 3 different placemats, napkin rings. Thank you again, Kathleen...you are the best!

The placemats I used today are a lovely Waverly white, blue and tan floral.

I tried the table with a blue and white tureen, but it seemed to dark seeing the sky is overcast, again. Did I mention that I have found 4 tureens for only a few dollars each in the past few weeks? Three white, made by Calif USA, during the 1950s, each one a different pattern, and a blue that was probably someone's ceramic project, as there are no marks on the bottoms.

I settled on this white with grapes/leaves. Isn't she a beauty? She was sitting on the bottom shelf at Goodwill, kind of toward the back, behind a vegetable serving dish. According to the tag, it had been there 2 days before I scooped it up.

I thought the tan flatware from World Market went very nicely with the placemats instead of the sterling. The plaid napkin was a thrift store find, as were the dinner plate and soup/salad plate. I have had the napkin rings for about 20 years, maybe longer.

The blue glassware is also thrifted. I used cobalt cordials as candle holders.

Thank you for taking the time to view my post this week. Please leave a comment so that I know you have been here. I will be having a giveaway soon...when I reach 200 followers.

Since I have been critized for not making comments on the previous two tablescapes, I decided before opening this weeks to comment on the blue regardless of color. Well, darn, you had to choose blue.

Marigene, as always, you have done a beautifull arrangement. I look forward to the next one...brown>

BIL

Have a great week!

This is such a beautiful table, great placemats, congrats! I love all the blue and one of your tureens you've found lately...yeah, I love tureens, they make great centerpieces as they're always sooo pretty! Thanks for comming by and for the lovely comments. I personally have two sets, mine is the one with the birds, in mostly oranges, this is my hubby's fav, the green one with the shermacks was a gift we gave to my Mil, so now it's here. I just did a table at my daughter's house with her china. I need to do one at my other daughter's home with hers too. Thank you for asking and liking the designs!

Hi! So sorry you've had the weather blues! I know what you mean. It's been pretty blah around here, too. The good news is that your blues transfer beautifully to your table! :-) Gorgeous and cheery! I really like the napkins a lot. They have a freshness about them...they just call you to the table! Have a great week. Hubby and I have had a change of plans. I will be flying down to Savannah to scout out a house. We move in less than 4 weeks now, and we still haven't found a place to live there!!! So I'm leaving early tomorrow morning and will have 24 hours to find something. Crazy, isn't it? I've been doing my online homework, though, so I hope it pays off. Take care!

Thanks for visiting my garden and for your sweet comments. Please come by and visit my living room.
have a great week. Hugs, Ginger
