Farmhouse Fresh!

I can't believe it is almost time for Tablescape Thursday with Susan of Between Naps On The Porch.
It seems to have been extra busy around here the past few weeks. Hopefully things will be at a slower pace for the next month or so.

To enlarge any picture, just click on it.

This week's table was going to be last week's, but I never got around to getting it set on time. The inspiration came from the gorgeous placemats and matching napkins; both are reversible. I have turned the edge up on one of the napkins so you can see both patterns. I picked them up at Goodwill a couple of month's ago for 59¢ each, so for less than $5 I have a nice matching set. I started with a blue and white checked tablecloth. The flatware is Oneida sterling in the Afterglow pattern; circa 1956.

I was going for a farmhouse look so I used white plates and a blue and white rimmed soup bowl with a rooster. I had started with a yellow rimmed soup bowl, but it was just too much yellow.

I did end up using yellow glassware...the small stem will be used for the wine is King's Crown Indiana Glass and the water stem maker is unknown.

The candlesticks are some I found a year or so ago while out thrifting. The rooster sitting on the orb is from TJMaxx a few years ago. He was popular as I have seen him several times around blogland!

The centerpiece is simply a vase sitting on a couple of old books with three sunflowers.

The entire table.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment...I really appreciate it. Hope to see you back here again, soon.

Again, another great table. The idea of the old books at the base of the centerpiece never occured to me. I may have to steal that someday! lol I cannot believe you got the entire ensemble for $5.00(napkins, etc.)from Goodwill. Great eye! Hugs from Arizona!

Love this! Who makes those rooster bowls? I would love to find some for my mom. She loves blue and white and roosters! This table rings all her chimes. I also love your yellow glasses. They are hard to find.

Marigene - this is one of my favorite summer looks! Maybe because I am still a farmgirl at heart :) You really got a bargain on those placemats/napkins, a quick check on ebay shows the placemats only 4/$59. I too love the look of the stacked books and might have to copy that sometime.

I sooo love this table. First off anything blue and white takes my breathe away, but the golden yellow adds such a wonderful touch. I've never seen King's Crown in yellow, only red.
