Luncheon Table

I set a very simple table for a small luncheon the other day...very, very simple!

The wicker charger plates were used without a tablecloth, once again.

I didn't want to do a Thanksgiving setting, but didn't want to ignore it, either. I used the salad/dessert plates with plain white dinner plates that have a really pretty raised border. The turkey plates are Myott Queen's Thanksgiving in polychrome. They have fairly subtle colors with quite a bit of an almost misty grey. I found these on sale at TJMaxx a few years ago. The dinner plate, unfortunately, has no backstamp so I don't know the maker or pattern. I found these at Salvation Army Thrift Store for 99¢ each.

There is a pale peach in the plate so I used peach napkins with wood napkin rings. The flatware is Oneida Afterglow, circa 1956.

The glassware is smokey grey, probably Libbey, but not sure. These were found at Goodwill for 49¢ each...did I ever tell you how much I like Goodwill!

The centerpiece is an urn filled with faux hydrangeas and creamy white candlesticks with a raised pattern somewhat like the plates. The candlesticks were from Goodwill, 37¢ each with the senior discount. The turkey was a gift at least 20 years ago from my friend Doré.

I took a couple pictures with the candles lit the night I set the table, but didn't light the candles for lunch!

The rim shot.

Thanks for taking the time to visit, it is very much appreciated. Hope you will come back again.
Until next time...have a great week!

***I just found out the maker/pattern of the creamy white plates is Steubenville Rose Point!

Marigene,

Those turkey plates are so pretty because of the blue and the peach coloring. I have always admired them. Such a nice "softer" plate than the usual Autumn ones. Makes for a nice change.

I know you are lucky at the GW! I have never used those beautiful blue goblets (you sent me) in a tablescape...yet, but I did feature them on my last kitchen hutch post :) Thanks again for them!

Glad to see you at my party again this week.

The colors in your turkey plates are so soft and pretty. I love the white ones! I sometimes think less is more on a tablescape...you proved that!

Your setting is very warm and makes for a great meal. And Goodwill is the bomb!!! It's almost as addictive as TJ Maxx.

The turkey plates are so pretty, Marigene and I like the peach napkins that pick up the peach in the plates. Got any turkey and dressing left? I'm on my way over. :)

You certainly found some great buys. I think those goblets are Libby, and I think I had some a long time ago or maybe it was my mother.

I love your dishes..all of them. I just recently ran across the Myott ones on ebay and thought they were lovely.
I want a set of plain white dishes so badly..but haven't found exactly what I want yet. I am thinking of Wedgewood's Hedgerose.
Expensive though so I will keep looking.
Your table looks sooo pretty!!

I had that same turkey (or one that was very similar), and I can't find it to save my soul!!! I think it must have disappeared in the move earlier this year. I always thought it was really cool looking, and I loved the texture of it. I hope to find mine soon because yours looks great!

I love using my wicker chargers instead of a cloth sometimes too. I still worry about water spots though! Your turkey plates are perfect with them. What's for lunch?

I know you described this table as simple, but I think your rim shot says otherwise. Though solid white, those plates have beautiful detail, and the same for the turkey plates. Gorgeous colors! I love Goodwill, too.
