It's Corny!

While visiting blogs I came across Back 2 Vintage where Sherry was showing a great set of corn dishes...it reminded me of some corny items I had found recently! I decided to show them to y'all.

They were all found at different times and places. The platter was found at Goodwill for $1.99 a few months back. The maker is Elpa made in Portugal. It is about 9½ x 15-inches.

The tureen is probably someone's ceramic project as there is just a fancy U etched into the bottom. I vaguely remember this piece from when I did ceramics back in the 70's. I bet some of you remember it, too, from one of those classes! I love the little ear of corn handle on the lid top. This piece was found at Savers for $3.99.

The last piece is a pitcher is a 7½-inch pitcher. I believe this piece may be a mass produced. There are no markings on the bottom other than 6 raised dots; 4 together, 2 almost directly across. This piece was found at a different Savers for $2.99.

I will be looking for more pieces to add to my small collection!

Thanks for taking the time to visit today! Come back again...

I sure wish we had Savers around here!

I loved seeing your beautiful blue & green tablescape, too, Marigene. LOVE that lace tablecloth, but I think I've told you that before. I NEED ONE!!

Regarding the Christmas Cactus:
Marigene, I'm no expert that's for sure & I've never fertilized this one but it does get TONS of sunlight & I bet that is part of why it does so well. We keep it out on the porch all summer long & it sits in a south facing window all winter. I bet it wouldn't hurt to give it a dose of fertilizer though. I do know they like to be pot-bound so if you've recently put it in a bigger pot, it may take awhile for it to bloom.

I went hunting for some more information for you & found this site especially helpful:

Good Luck & let me know what if you have any luck after a good dose of something like Peter's or Miracle Grow.

Those are great! But CORN leaves a bad taste in my mouth since that episode many years ago on the CF! Remember? Craaazy!
I don't remember that piece from ceramics, I have the potato though, LOL.
Thanks for sharing those, very interesting. And I agree with Debbie, it will make a great scape come summer, yellow and green! I know you have that!

Isn't fun to find things that seem like they were made for each other. Looking forward to a "corny" tablescape soon.

How cute! This reminds me, my mother had something in the corn design, I'm trying to remember what it was, maybe a pitcher. I'm also wondering what happened to it!

They are so funky and fun. They remind me of the Corn Palace. They would be fun at a table. You do find the best pieces. P.S. I do love stray cats, it is the only thing I have ever had. Joni
